Police have been told by Mayor that compliance with orders, like masks or no gatherings over 50, are "voluntary". Dc council told them they cant use crowd control measures. What would you have them do? |
exactly, if you stop documenting crimes, crime will go down! |
There were a number of officers there, but not enough to force the gathering to disperse. |
Why didn't they just remind everyone that assault and homicide is illegal? That would have made everything safer. |
2020 and you’re still making Applebee’s “jokes” |
It's pretty telling that out of the 20 reasons listed, all you can find to disagree with is the particular brand of shitty suburban chain restaurant mentioned. |
Then why couldn't he answer the simple question (in his own press conference) of what time the party started? |
Why is this on the police? They have been knee capped in enforcement this summer. This is on the Mayor. If she wants her under 50 rule gathering enforced, she needs to say so. It was the same thing with her curfew. Wasn't enforced. |
Just like the First Amendment was twisted to give individuals the right to free speech? Just like the Fourth Amendment was contorted to grant individuals protection against warrantless searches? Just like the Sixth Amendment was warped to allow individuals to have a speedy trial? Yeah... ALL those Amendments were all corrupted and missapplied to grant rights to the individual, huh? Because all those rights in the BOR are protections for The State, right? |
Obviously the way to stop these shootings by criminals with illegally possessed guns is to punish people like you, PP. Take away the gun that you jumped through all those legal hoops for, and aren’t using to shoot anyone. That will fix it. And when it doesn’t fix it, it doesn’t matter anyway. The only thing that DOES matter is that YOUR gun was taken away. Gun control isn’t about taking guns away from criminals. It’s about taking guns away from people that aren’t criminals. |
All those “reasons” are valid ..... for someone in their early-mid 20’s. Worrying about what bar is stumbling distance home? How many times do I need to see a museum? I’m a better cook than any restaurant. Concerts? When has anyone been to a concert lately? Or when will there be a concert again? Your reasons are juvenile. They all orient around some variation of “being where the action is” I’m an adult. I saw plenty of action when I was 24. I’m a grown-up now, and I want a nice, quiet, boring neighborhood “at the ass-end of nowhere”, where I can leave my car and doors unlocked, raise my kids in a good school, and never have to worry about whether I’m going to be the NEXT Seth Rich. You’ll grow up too, one day. |
What the f*** you doing in DC then? Take your ass to Montana and ranch up. |
You don’t need to live in Montana. I’m 16 miles east of DC and have 6 acres with horses and a pond. Wouldn’t trade my place for ANY house in DC |
And you don't live in DC so your thoughts on the matter are irrelevant. Bye. |
| DC is going to the toilet. Incredible. |
