Showering with a 3 year old toddler?

My 2.5 year old DD showers with either my DH or me all the time. She just enjoys being in the shower. She thinks it's fun to watch the water go down the drain and play in the bubbles. I can't imagine it all of a sudden being an issue in a few months.

It’s fine until your daughter makes comments showing she’s uncomfortable. Trust me, he will know when it’s enough.

Yup, this.

+1. Anyone who is making this shameful or sexual is not the kid. That’s your own weirdness.

When we’re all getting ready at the same time, DS will hop in the shower with me or DH. He usually sits on the floor and plays with toys the whole time and it’s an easy way to entertain him. When we’re getting out and getting dressed he usually wants to do a naked dance and we turn on music and dance around and it’s hilarious.

We do talk to him about private parts, and that they are his. But the whole shower naked dance party thing is complete childhood innocence. As someone who spent most of my life hating my body, I’m happy that he is comfortable in his skin.

My son is almost 3 and I’ve showered with him mainly when we’ve been on vacation and coming back from the beach. It’s just easier for us to shower together to get the sand off.

He doesn’t even know what he’s looking at and mainly just likes to play in the water.

I don’t see what the problem is.

Wrong. IT ends when either party is uncomfortable so if her DH is uncomfortable with it now, it stops now, even if DD would continue happily for 2 or 3 more years.

Personally, I never found showering with my kids to be more convenient or a time-saver, and likely would have resulted in 1 or more of us getting a broken bone, but I have nothing against those that do bathe with their small kids if it works for them.

I did find it weird back in my nanny days, when my boss would bathe with her mother, they were English though so different culture.

It is fine and perfectly normal.

Meh, I used to jump in the shower with my dad all the time as a kid. Nothing inappropriate occurred and I grew out of it before I was school age. My father passed when I was 15 and at 38 I am thankful for the funny stories about me jumping in the shower with him.

i have boys so i think about this. my mom was fine walking around us naked through out teens but we NEVER saw our dad naked. my son is 5 and has make the "what is that" comment to my saggy boobs. "that dear son, is a result if breastfeeding you for a year and a half". LOL.

She’s three years old and loves her bedtime shower ritual with daddy.

Absolutely never.
