What do you think of the new Young House Love house in FL?

Sherry really emphasizes how much it works for them, and also mentions how people say to have small bedrooms and larger living spaces when you downsize... doesn’t seem like that applied to their master bedroom!

I wonder if they could put a kitchen in where the tv is and then move the tv to the opposite wall with the couch and seating in front of it.

The layout isn’t really for a full-time residence. I don’t understand why the master is so large.

I guess they’ll sell it before the kids are teenagers. No way they can last in this place.

We have a 900 square foot house. Kids are fine and happy with nice college funds. Their future is more important to us than a big house.

Just checking out the blog... one puzzle is how they will wring content out of this space, since it’s so small and already filled with their stuff. Should we brace for radical transformation?

I can’t believe they put a minsplit over their $$$$ tv. Disaster waiting to happen.

+1

Although they claim to be adding a pool, guest house and porch onto their lot- not sure how all that will fit, with the new construction going up right next door ... also a master bathroom

My prediction is they sell shortly after completing the mb bath addition and pool/guesthouse. The place clearly is too small for them, and since they can afford larger, they will move.

I agree. They will get some content out of doing the bath addition, adding the pool, and building the guest space. Then they’ll flip and move on to something larger.

The house pics! Reverse google image search. Listing pics are gone now. I belong to another board where it was discussed.

So tell us where the new house is then.

I read on another Forum that it was likely Seaside or Seagrove Beach, FL.

Anyone else see YHL's recent mental breakdown on instagram over a "secret" hallway that everyone already knew was there? What's up with that?

No! Full details, please!

They are so lucky to have sold those beach houses before the pandemic - their income would have plummeted due to fewer Airbnb activity.

I know Florida didn’t lock down, but it would have been nice to all that space in Richmond with two kids doing virtual school.

She saved the rant in highlights. I think it is called "boundaries".

When your house is scaled for the 5'2" and not the 6'0" person. It's all cheap, apartment-sized furniture.

The one place John can lounge.

Why the obsession with their lives? THey made a choice for their family - not the blog. Leave them alone.

The house is definitely too small for them, or at least, the way they are tying to furnish it. The Florida part seems to be working for them though. I expect to see then move to a large house in the same area within the next year or so. This one will be sold or made into a rental.

They are social media influencers. People follow them because they share every detail of their lives. If they put it out there, people will discuss it.
