To answer your question, he is a total douchebag. Strictness isn't it, he is just a vengeful DOB. He Blackballs players and has organized removals of fellow coaches. Every MYS parent knows this. All the Virginia ODP coaches know as well. Until Louise goes, he will stay.

He used to tell fellow coaches not to take certain players for artificial reasons when it was just his own personal vendetta. A few parents stood up to him and complained. Not sure that is a blackball, just crappy.

Look at his teams. They always stink. It is NOT the fault of the children- he has willing and capable kids- he just doean't know what he is doing. He is a nice guy, his own kids are very good players...he tries to make up for a lack of knowledge by being a " tough coach"- to little kids. He has never and will never coach a team that develops

I hear this a lot about some coaches. It’s always the parents who say this. I remember we were looking at a club and my dd was playing with some older girls from the club. I told her to ask about the coach she would be playing under. The coach was listed as an assistant with the older girls team and many had had that coach a few years at the younger ages. The girls opinion of the coach was a lot different vs the parents. The girls said the coach was the worst. They all hated the coach. The vocal parents loved the coach.

what parent has their daughter playing for a coach they hate? looking at the number of kids who end up dropping sports entirely around middle/high school you'd think finding coaches they want to play for would be a priority for parents

This past weekend he had one of his teams run up the score to something like 15-0 against another team because of a slight from that club from the previous year. Taking it out on 8-9 yr old girls shows you the kind of person that he is. Tough is one thing, this is something completely different.
