McLean U9-U11 AGD

4 different coaches? Yikes.

Usually you have a different coach each year at mclean. Why is this unusual?

He does not kick balls at kids. He kicks balls if you come in with a ball not fully inflated. No one is hit with a ball. Is he warm and fuzzy-no but he is a terrific coach. My kid was not one of his favorites but we are not crazy soccer people. Child improved learning from him. As you get older, more yelling so either you deal with it or find another sport.

I agree he knows soccer but he is a yeller and I'm not sure that is the best for little girls. My DD had him and all the girls were terrified of him. And yes he kicks balls that are not fully inflated. He kicks them into the woods. Then after practice when it is dark you get to go into the woods to look for your kids ball. I think it's a little over the top.

Are...you serious? People pay to be treated like this?

He does kick away the un-inflated balls - my kid always showed up for practice prepared and ready to go. He never made them hunt in the woods by themselves at night. We thought he is a great coach and wish my kid had him as a coach when they first got started with travel.

Can't spell Jack Ass without JA

How many girls has he driven out of the game?

If your kid sucks, you probably won't like JA. That's just how it is.

No, that isn't how it is at 9-11 years old. A kid should be properly placed and trained. Not every kid on the B team is destined to stay there and vice versa. A kid doesn't "suck" at 9, they are 9.

Kids should not be driven from a team or the sport at such a young age.

He's been gaining more and more power at both MYS and VYSA as time goes on. Not good!

Not what I meant at all. If your kid sucks and goes to training to goof around, you probably won't like JA

True. The MYS BOD is too afraid to do anything, and he kisses both Clyde and Louise's asses so hard that if (actually when) something happens again with a player, those two should be the ones held accountable for keeping him there. A grown-up coach having temper tantrums around little girls makes no sense.

About 8 years ago the MYS DOC fired the guy, but Louise and Clyde hired him back. Go figure. Such is the way of a dysfunctional club.

Saying a kid "sucks" at 11 is the problem. And if JA picked them perhaps he sucks at player identification. Either way, they are 10 and 11 years old and they all have areas they need to develop. But I'm sure your kid is amazing because she can do scissors. LOL So technical.

NP here. There are plenty of technical coaches with positive approaches and temperament. Go to nearby clubs and mention his name around fellow coaches, who often work with him at VYSA too … well, they laugh or make the same face that all the McLean parents make who have experienced his "coaching." Not a good thing when you get that reaction from those on the inside. They won't hire him for a reason.

He coaches the youngers on A teams so the newbie parents who suck up to him only find out -- the hard way -- after a year or two and move on to better coaching.

J.A. kicked a soccer ball at a girl while she sat on the bench

Narrowly missed her

Yelled at our coach and the ref

Disgrace all around

What does working at VYSA mean? ODP?
