Sounds good to me. But in case there is still a severe shortage of masks like there is right now, we should plan on allowing voting by mail.

If you believe your vote is important, then get to the polls. Outside of being bed ridden or out of town, there are very few other excuses. If you think it's an inconvenience, then too bad.

Agree completely.

Sounds good to me. This also sounds like you support the government's authority to continue the shutdowns. If you think it's an inconvenience, then too bad.

Well, since you take that attitude, I will respond in kind and say fark you.

Insightful Post, right? Just like yours.

Active service military have been voting by mail since the civil war. We entrust passports, taxes and census documents to the USPS. This is such a non-issue, it is galling to see Trump play the right like this.

It's all about suppressing voter turnout. That's all Trump can hope for these days.

It's also about claiming the election results are illegitimate when he loses.

So?

Many people have been voting by mail for a while. WH press secretary has been doing so for years. Trump did. Why can't everyone else? I have been for years, too, even when I used to be a R. Why was it fine before but now it's not?

Nope. I can't verify who you are or that you ordered or submitted a ballot on your own. It's rife with avenues for fraud. Forget your "affirmation statements".

You are not to be trusted.

If it can't be trusted, then why has Trump and his press Secretary voted by mail, and now, Rs want to let PA Rs vote by mail all of a sudden.

According to Trump's campaign, it's ok to send a mail ballot if someone asks for it. Make sure you email Trump and his campaign that it can't be trusted, and it's rife with avenues of fraud? Yea?

LOL. Trump supporters really are cult members..

Mark Hrutkay, chairman of the Washington County GOP, remind voters on Facebook this month of the mail-in option and was met with an earful of angry responses from Trump supporters.

"I had one woman, using a lot of four-letter words, tell me, 'Didn’t you know Trump hates mail-in balloting?'"

Homemade masks and bandannas don’t work? Why require them?

You see, masks slow down the rate of whatever germa are coming out of your mouth. They don’t necessarily filter everything. But reducing the viral load helps slow down the rate of Infection. Not perfect, but better.

Sounds like pp doesn’t do nuance. Too bad.

Many people work and cannot get to polls on a Tuesday.
Many people have elder or child care and cannot get to polls on a Tuesday.
Many places have limited the number of polling places causing long lines, hours long. How do you get to work when you are stuck in line for hours?

I could go on, but it is BS, because you like to think everyone fits into some perfect box.

This one is huge. When Virginia first allowed voting on other days ahead of time, they made you have a very specific reason (which were only a couple of things like being out of town on election day). I went and the guy in front of me, an elderly gentleman was told he didn't qualify even though he said he had to take care of grandchildren all day and would not be able to make it on election day. I was livid. He was disenfranchised.

Thankfully Virginia has changed and anyone can vote early and now you can vote mail in as well. People do get a clue, but as Winston Churchill said, "you can count on the Americans to make the right decision after they have exhausted all the other options."

The petri dishes above show when the person coughing is wearing a mask. Yes, that works. But you can be sure that there will be some loonies in the voting lines who will not be wearing masks. Your mask protects me and my mask protects you. If you are not wearing a mask, it is a problem for me. Get it? So if a person has comorbidities, that person may not feel comfortable going to the polls. Should you be the one deciding for that person whether or not he/she goes to the polls? Should the person get to decide for him/herself? Is this an individual liberty we should protect? Are you in a position to guarantee that the person does not get the virus?

I used to vote early when I lived in Virginia. It made it a LOT easier to exercise my right to vote. Literally the ONLY reason not to allow early voting and vote by mail is because you don't want people voting.

This. I’m a taxpayer and a legal citizen and my vote should be protected, not cancelled out by widespread fraud.

Correction dp, old guy was not disenfranchised. He could vote in the regular polling day. He still got to vote, he just had to abide by...the rules.
