I like it. Definitely old man vibe so I would assume he was named after a grandfather or great-grandfather. Just like when I meet a baby Abe or Calvin. |
NMS. Neither is Abner and my friend just used that. Boring names are fine, really! |
I Mean You could use Solomon. |
Shane and Sebastian are awful. Soren is the worst. |
I like Saul. The "better call" show will be in the distance. I named my kid an "old man" classic name and I know some people don't like it, but I think people with good taste do like it. |
A good friend of mine and my husband is named Saul. He is Hispanic. He also named his son Saul (pronounced saw-ool). Very attractive young man, polite, very athletic. So, we don’t all think of it as an old man name. ![]() |
Shane is trashy. Sebastian I LOVE, but you better be pretty sure that your kid is going to be super attractive. It's a hot guy name. I also like Soren, but it's very Scandi, so yeah, better be a 6'4 attractive blonde guy or it's pretty out of place. |
My thoughts exactly. She's ahead of the curve! It's adorable - and I love that it works in Spanish, too! Saw-ool. |
Saul is lovely.
As pp said, it is not considered a name for just old people in Spanish. I know a number of kids named Saul, and some dads and grandfathers. One of my friend's sons is named Saul and he is a teen now. Great kid! I really like it. Go for it, pp. |
But can we call him Paul? |
I love the name Saul. |
Honestly - I don’t like it at all. But there are a lot of old names that have come back and I didn’t like any of those at the time either, but they have all grown on me. I’m sure if Saul makes a comeback, we will all get used to it too. |
I don't like it.
That being said, my son has an unusual name that some people may not like (haven't ever had this said to my face, but I'm sure). Thing is? My kid likes it. DH and I like it. That's really all that matters. |
