I fashion them a bit differently than Dr. Brix, but they're timeless and certainly not just for old ladies.

Also, whoever said the comment about her kissing the president's ass is an idiot. She's not kissing his ass, she's a freaking diplomat. She's polite and doing what she has to do to remain on the committee because she knows she can help fight this virus. Dr. Birx is very highly regarded in the medical field and one of the few leaders left from the Obama administration. Show some respect loser.

She's a conservative who's pushed abstinence only AIDS policy around the world. She's just another ghoul who'll, take some death here or there to prop up court packing. Quit believing in fairytales, women scientists have capacity for evil. Dressing competently is good cover.

That’s not an accurate characterization at all.

What is your objection? That she didn’t retire and abandon a cause (HIV treatment and prevention) that she has devoted her life to, rather than rub elbows with abstinence nuts? You don’t seem to have a firm grip on the political line that scientists and health policy experts have to walk in order to function in the face of American politics.

There’s simply no proof she’s walking a line and not an active participant.

She seems like a very nice person.

There’s plenty of proof. She is deeply respected and highly admired by many in the HIV/AIDS community who are decidedly NOT conservative. Quite frankly, you don’t know wtf you’re talking about.

"Birx has built up a reputation in the HIV/AIDS world as someone who is dedicated and trusted, says A. Toni Young, the head of Community Education Group, a nonprofit that does a lot of work around HIV. https://dccfar.gwu.edu/toni-young

Young says that in this current crisis, she was relieved when she heard that Birx, along with Fauci, were on the White House coronavirus task force.

"When I saw she and Dr. Fauci, I said, 'We have a chance. We honestly have a chance,' " she says. "Dr. Fauci, with his scientific perspective and Dr. Birx with her robust knowledge of public health and systems —that's what this is going to take. This is going to take knowing what all the systems do and how to pull the right lever at the right time."

Maybe, or this scarf appreciation is more Stockholm syndrome. But we all stand to inherit gobs of scarves, so her fashion demos will come in handy.

You have never worn a scarf? Really?

Weird.

Anyway she is almost 63 so

Never

That just means you lack style.

Nope, not at all. Many fashionistas don't wear scarves.

Not really.

One can be very fashionable and wear scarves, and also be very fashionable and never wear a scarf. It’s not a litmus test for fashion. We’re all different, and that’s a good thing! How boring if we all looked like we came from the same cookie cutter.

Well said. Dr. Brix certainly has exquisite style.

She dresses like someone who has a closet full of casual clothes and some dressy, night out clothes. She lacks professional, business-like clothes (think Fiona Hill). I’m tired of seeing her in crazy scarves covering ladies who lunch dresses.

Loved the Tiffany blue in her scarf this afternoon. Can anyone please post a pic?

Today’s scarf adds nothing to the outfit. It’s like someone told her she had to wear a scarf.

My mother is a physician and dresses in a similar way. She doesn’t actually see patients and she doesn’t have to wear a suit but she can’t go to work in jeans so she just wears pretty dresses, scarves, etc.

I am sick of her scarves. It is so awful that she has to wear one EVERY day. They are so ugly and such a stupid affectation. - especially that over the shoulder 5 foot in front and 5 foot in back thing she is wearing today. There must be something wrong with woman
