Why the MCPS schools are not cancelling PTA and other meetings?

It is known that the virus spreads through droplets in the air. An orchestra room is teeming with droplets that can potentially spread the virus. It’s particularly gross. And the kids are packed in super close.

We know it spreads via droplets in the air. We don't know that orchestra rooms are significantly different than any other rooms. That is where a citation would be useful.

Well, the CDC has recommended social distancing - leaving 6 feet of space between you and the next person. Anyone who has a kid in band knows that the kids are smushed together much closer than that.

Our school PTA just cancelled all March PTA events, including the March PTA meeting which I don't think could really be called a "mass gathering."

Our PTA has a silent auction, DH and I have decided we are not attending. We will write a check instead.
