Trump is a capitalist, and unapologetically so. He doesn't need to justify how or why he lives in a lavish way compared with the rest of the country - he runs based on other strengths and policies. Whether you or I agree with them or not is irrelevant.

Bernie is running on the idea that the wealthy being wealthy is disgusting and wrong, and that everyone should have the same amount of wealth. That's what socialism is. He can't have a vacation home - his third home! - that costs more than most people's first homes, even if you ignore all the people who are homeless in this country. It's so ridiculous that it's actually laugh-out-loud funny.

At least Bernie bought houses and is paying taxes on them so he has contributed to the economy instead of hoarding money. We don't even know how much in taxes Trump pays. And, in any case I'll take Bernie over traitor any day. Bernie's wife might have something to do with the cabin? The other two houses are necessary because he travels (and they are not "over the top").

That’s an oddly specific description that I don’t think the “average” American had in mind.

People don’t care about this shit. They don’t, or Trump would not have won. No one who was inclined to support Sanders is going to be like “oh but he is now upper middle class now so he’s a traitor.”

That’s not how this works. His message resonates and he has been consistent with his message.
