The Trump women and their fashion mishaps thread part deux

Her hair doesn't look great IMO, but it is technically fashionable.

Both trends are about 15 years old--striping is not nineties. Not new enough to confuse anyone, not old enough to be back in style. This is someone who's fashion sense is stuck in the recent past, n.b. the out of style kidneys. Using roots to add depth and be less severe is hard for someone like Ivanka with such naturally greasy hair. Works better with hair like her mother's (even if that is a wig).

I agree that her clothes are sometimes trendy and that they do not look good on her for a number of factors, including her gigantic fake breasts and gigantic fake teeth which are decidedly NOT trendy and combine to make her more suited to 90s styles.

This looks bad in DC, because let’s face it, trends take a couple of years to make their way into closets here.

The chunky highlights from the 90s are back. Like a lot of trendy 90s style. Even her roots, keeping some dark roots on lightened hair, are the trendy style now. In the other thread there were some brown outfits. Brown has also been trending as the new ‘neutral’.

It’s just not DC style and generally the fit is off for her. I attribute that to weight gain and body changes that happen after 3 kids and not having learned how to change your style to adapt to your new body. Also adapting to the fact that your in your 30s now and can no longer get away with style trends like we could in our 20s.

The excessive face work also shows that she’s not comfortable with her new figure and age and is trying to compensate elsewhere.

Can we agree that it doesn't matter if your clothes are fashionable or not if they look bad on you?? And most of them look bad on her.

I pretty much stated that in my first sentence.

My point is that there are a lot of posts like “omg striped hair”, “she’s wearing a dress that’s the color of poop”, “the roots, the horror!”

It’s not that those things aren’t trending, it’s that she hasn’t figured out how to dress for her body and her age. Those posting with the kinds of remarks above are outing themselves as old and/or not knowing of any fashion beyond the corporate DC look.

What about those of us who know fashion but think, since she’s working at the White House and representing us everywhere she goes, she should have a corporate DC look?

What about it? I’m cool with that opinion (though I don’t agree that we should all be matching corporate drones), but that’s not what the majority of posts are about. It’s a lot of crowing about the fashion or trend as if it’s not actually fashionable or trendy.

She dresses in ways that aren’t flattering for her figure. 100% agree. I do think she chooses fashion forward styles and trends. I wish she made them look better and appreciate her not succumbing to the DC wardrobe mold.

Can we stick to picking on the Trump women instead of each other?

In the words of an art teacher I once had:

Ambition doesn’t matter if you have no execution skills.

It doesn’t matter that Ivanka is fashion forward if her nipples show or her clothes don’t fit.

Please! I wanted another giggle.

It's ironic that PP posted Kate Gosselin as an example of the stripey hair trend from the 90s. She was on TV, but she was always low-brow tacky-trendy, which is what that stripey look always was.

Can someone post any picture of a fashionable woman over the age of 30 with those noticeable roots or stripes?
I also think it looks awful on Margot Robbie too, but I think she at least is trying to rock an edgy artsy look, which isn't working on Ivanka.

Because you’re wrong. The striped hair is straight out of Calabasas ca. 2005, not at all nineties, and the same is for her cosmetic dental and breast surgeries. It’s dated, not trendy. Were she 90s trendy, she’d be styled totally differently even if she still wore the same cripplingly expensive yet unsuitable clothing.

Wow this thread is harsh! I didn’t follow the other bc admittedly I didn’t know a lot of the politicians so meh

Her hair is in trend right now, I think it looks good. As a blonde, the heavy highlights haven’t been popular since 2000s? But they are coming back
