Another person from a Very Cold Place, and I would not care if my kid went to ride around in the car without a coat if the weather was 35 degrees or above. We took our 3YO and 5YO out to dinner tonight and they both refused coats. I decided not to fight them on it -- natural consequences and all.
If we were walking, that would be a different story. If it was 20 degrees outside, again-- that would be a different story. |
I would also be mad. My DH was like this. Took great care of himself but not the kids. I don't get it. |
To all those posting that it’s fine to got out in the freezing cold without a coat for a 2 year old then why r u wearing a coat? Oh right u enjoy being comfortable and apparently can’t think beyond the tip of your nose. |
Yes, I would be mad. DD is 2. It's Mom and Dad's job to decide if a 2 year old wears a coat-she's not old enough to rationally decide. If she was, say, 10-then yes, natural consequences- but she's a toddler and it's parents job to protect her from the elements. |
I almost never wear a coat. 46 degrees isn’t freezing. If the car was parked in a garage, the car wasn’t 33 degrees when they got into it. What do you think is going to happen? Op - did dad day the baby screamed and screamed every time outside? If not, what is the issue. Baby clearly wasn’t uncomfortable and you can’t get sick from being cold AND those temps are not too concerning. |
