It's interesting that such a loving dog owner would refer to his GF's pet as "that thing." I don't own any pets, but I'm pretty sure I would not refer to a friend's pet, much less a significant other's pet in such a derogatory manner. And how did you get to the point of moving in together if your two respective pets are fighting multiple times a day and you have such disdain for your GF and her pet?

Why not just send your dog to your parents' house?
And if you really loved your GF, you wouldn't have let her know you don't like her dog, wouldn't have chosen your dog over her, called her a liar, refused to hire a dog trainer or suggested that she send her dog to live with her parents while living in your house with your dog.

If you try to break up a dog fight, you are going to get bit. Ask me how I know. That doesn't mean the dog would ever bite her, or anyone else under other circumstances. To not believe her means you are a douche. All that said, you are dog people. She is going to choose her dogs over you.
