| Ok, fair enough. |
Parents behaving badly. Shouting, heckling, interrupting, booing, preventing the presenters from presenting. |
| just saw some videos from the meeting. what a shitshoe |

Here's the problem. MCPS surrounds itself internally with yes mean and women. Big surprise - parents are against busing. Except I am pretty sure that MCPS is surprised at the level of disapproval. Its incredibly insular and then they are shocked when they interact with anyone outside of MCPS. MCPS REALLY needs to start hiring people internally who have critical thinking capabilities not butt kissing skills so they can craft policies and initiatives much better.
It is VERY important for parents to come out at each and every one of these meetings and make their voices heard. If they don't MCPS will simply pat themselves on the back telling themselves that everyone agrees with them even if they do not. |
where is the video? |
Yup. I've got one on my calendar. I support the boundary analysis, and I want MCPS and parents to hear my voice. Also, you know what? It's possible to make your voice heard appropriately, even if you disagree with the boundary analysis. Parents tonight chose not to do that, though. |
Not listening. You hear what you want to hear. That's your choice. |
Please explain how opposition to the boundary analysis supports school diversity. |
that is a shame, and really bad role models for the kids there. I wonder what they would say if their kids heckled their teachers in class because they didn't like what they were hearing? I know I'd be ashamed of my kids. |
+1 million This came up with the multiple sex assault cases (Rockville, Damascus, RM). Smith wouldn't even make himself available for parents at meetings. For one meeting, he just left saying he was busy or had another commitment, etc. I do hope parents show up to these meetings to make their voices heard. MCPS leadership, the BOE and Jack Smith have a history of avoiding answering parent questions. |
I know there’s a nationwide issue with what facts are, but really? |
And on top of it all, the boe takes notice and gives the shaft to the rudest of the group. Just look at Clarksburg. BOE even sent a follow up email saying their behavior was uncalled for. And they got redistricted HARD. |
yes, it does. consultant at the meeting confirmed that the data is not adjusted for special programs (immersion/magnet/spec ed), therefore it is actually meaningless and is there for optics. |
No, the school board doesn't have an agenda. They do not have a backbone and approve everything MCPS Staff (Dr Zuckerman) puts before them. If any of the Board members dare ask/question the MCPS staff, they go into MCPS mode (talk for at least 20 minutes, do not actually answer the question, and the person asking generally gives up). |
Nope. It said right there on the poster that it does not include those students. |
