Fake teeth

Anonymous wrote:Fake tooth person here. Your post offends me. No one with great teeth elect to have their teeth replaced. I suffered from bulimia for years, and had to have most of my teeth replaced. I am self conscious about them, and I hate to smile. They are considered to be prosthetic, just like someone who had another part of their body replaced because of a medical reason. To judge about teeth can sometimes be just as bad as judging someone with a disability.

Sorry, maybe that's extreme, but that's the way I feel. I've endured a lot of pain because of my teeth, and it's a constant struggle. I have constant anxiety of, what if a tooth falls out on vacation, what if someone asks me about my teeth, people telling me how big my teeth are, what if I need a tooth replaced and it can't be matched, etc.

Maybe you could just choose to be accepting and not judge why someone has teeth that are not natural. I truly find your question offensive.

No just no.

You chose that BTW

NP here. You are a terrible person.

PP, I’m so sorry you have went through that. Please ignore the awful comment. You are strong and beautiful.

A north bethesda dentist kept pressuring me to have them pulled out and get implants so I could have the "perfect smile" for 17k. I quit going to her. I won't name her because she sues former clients who give her bad reviews - she is a total weirdo.

I think I know which dentist!

Is she Always Chasing Beauty?

Dr. S. That's all I will say.

You are insane for comparing your elective teeth to that of a disability/prosthetic. Get meds for your anxiety.

Wow, just wow. Have some empathy, people who need tooth/ teeth implants need them so they can eat properly, it’s not elective like those big chiclet or bleach white teeth that people get.

How about grow a heart since you don’t have one.

Check your anxiety, and use your brain. Your teeth are not even comparable to a disability. You are pitiful.

NP. Who cares what you think, PP. Do you tell people with fake legs to just use crutches instead?

Most people consider teeth essential -- like, for chewing and swallowing -- and if that means getting fake ones then so be it. Do you expect people to eat mashed bananas and gruel instead? In one of the richest countries in the world? Absurd.

Learn reading comprehension, it’s not hard to see that I’m not the poster who needed implants.

Maybe, you skipped your 6th grade English class. Maybe, you’re spouse or significant other won’t throw you a bone because you’re a bitch.

You are dumb or otherwise impaired, but you can't help it. Bless your heart.

I think that they can look way too large for someone's mouth and it is very distracting.
No ones front 4 teeth are all the same size/shape so that is also a dead give away. I hate when people have these HUGE 4 square bright white front teeth and think they look good.
I have one fake (eye tooth) and you would never notice. I think if done right they can look good, but so many people get the wrong size/color (see Fashion Jacskon on IG)

I had veneers done several years ago due to tetracycline staining as a child. Before the veneers, my smile was straight, but very very grey.

My dentist did an ok job of helping me select the right shade of white, but when he was finished, my teeth seemed larger and more perfect/square than before (as other PPs mentioned), which was upsetting to me. I had him go back and file back the veneers to a more natural rounded shape and smaller, and now they look like my teeth, but just whiter.

I don't think this is a vain thing to do at all if you have a significant issue like severe staining or very bad teeth due to lack of orthodontia work as a child.

Here are my before and afters for my veneers. I don't think they look huge.
