Do you condone cheating? Do you help your kids?

Teachers allow kids to help each other with homework at our top school and actually encourage it. They call and text each other on group chats. Is this what you are referring to? I was concerned and actually asked teachers if it was okay and they said yes as long as it was a collaborative effort.

You must be at private? Kids are allowed to do this at our private as well. Working together on study guides homework is allowed.

In the '70s, I wrote answers in my eye glass case. The professor said he would tap students on the shoulder if he caught anyone heating but he would not embarrass the person.

He tapped me on the shoulder and I almost screamed but slowly turned around instead to see what he wanted. He asked me for a cigarette. I had the case and cigarettes on the desk. That was my last time cheating in college.

I don’t know if the parents know that this goes on.

The old tests thing is on the teacher not the student. Universities have old exams at the tutoring centers that everyone can buy and the professors maybe occasionally reuse a question or 2 out of say 80. Every kid with an older sibling has access to old tests. Should be for all to see as just an idea of what the most important material is.

It’s not really the same because the kids are specifically told not to talk about questions and the tests are not sent home. So older siblings do not have these particular tests lying around. Also, TJ has an honor code, so kids who “sell” their memorized test questions to test prep businesses are violating the code they have agreed to abide by if they get caught.

My friend knew about this happening because kids have been caught and have had consequences for doing this. My friend did not share any specifics about these situations with me, just the general idea that this is one way that kids cheat.
