Appollonia is a cultural name, so probably wouldn't criticize it, especially as a teacher.


Agree. I used to know an Appollonia. My college boyfriend had an older brother who was dating a woman with a 3 year old daughter named Appollonia. "Appy" was named after her father's grandmother. She's probably in her late 20's now.
