What do they have at Christmas time? I've only ever been other times of year.

I don't like it except for...the cheap ice cream cones. I love those.

Tons of cheap tree and house decorations, with a modern, often Swedish flavor: candelabras, light strings, reindeer, papercraft things.

I love everything about IKEA and I must get meatballs with lingonberries every time.

Although the meatballs are kind of spongy, a bit like hot dogs. I don’t know why that is. Doesn’t stop me, though.

I love it too. I’ve always loved ikea style! In the 80s when all my relatives and friends had mauve or light yellow living rooms with sad furniture, my dad preferred mid century and contemporary furniture. We were so excited for the first US ikea. I love everything I’ve gotten there.

Thank you for posting this-- it made me holler laughing!!

You don’t actually. There are shortcuts. Look at the map before going in and decide on the shortcuts to take. You can get very quickly to any point. The place exhausts me as well though, but it’s more the people cause I usually go on weekends, like most everyone else. Wish had time to go there mid-week.

Thanks for the tip but, I am happier away from that store. If I really need something and I mean can't live without I would rather order it online than go there.

The vegetarian meatballs are good too.

Stop it. They aren’t horse meat, that was all recalled and it wasn’t served in the US.

Omg. Me too. I can handle the one in college park but feel anxious the whole time. In others, I start panicking that I will be trapped forever.

Upstairs showroom, especially kids section is fun for kids, but the other rooms are fun too. Kid will always find something to feed their curiosity. Many things that they don't see anywhere else. It is like furniture museum where you can touch everything so that is great for kids. The interior styles are different then most US homes so that is also fun. The toy section is decant and different.

And the food.. aahhh the food. If you think meatballs are great which they are, now they added veggie meatballs, chicken meatballs and some other ones, they have tons of vegetarian options and gluten free and anything in-between. Cakes and sweats are delicious, soups are nice,
salads are small and fun, graved lax is divine, rolls are yummy. Their fun carbonated Swedish drinks from the machine are always welcomed by kids and eating area with all those funny big paper lamps and play areas are kids friendly.

Buying stuff is optional but you most likely never come back emptyhanded even if it is only some little kitchen gadget or two, or some useful office supply stuff or a little lamp or even piece furniture!

Yes, definitely like trip to different world without your passport, visa or plain tickets.

It's not Busch Gardens lady. It is a store and this is reason #1 I can't stand the place.

You’re very welcome. I believe it to be the best thread of all time and am glad you enjoyed it.

I love it. I'm into interior design and home decor, though. It kind of feels like Disney Land to me, lol. I've going there at a greater frequency over the past couple of years with two kids in college.

I love the tiny apartment models they have - they're so interesting!
