Am I being petty? PTA

More likely they saw someone else had volunteered and switched to a slot that didn’t have coverage. It’s possible they wanted to volunteer together for some reason, and that’s why they all changed (there are certain times at our book fair that are basically dead, so they can be a good chance to have a quick PTA work session while also providing volunteer coverage).

They all switched to the time slot right after - all three of them. Leaving OP as the only volunteer in her time slot. Unless they ended up with a meeting during the earlier time slot, it's at the very least kind of strange.

OP, I'd show up and see what happens. If it's a PTA filled with a bunch of jerks, better to find out right off the bat.

OP, don't take it personally. I imagine they wanted to go over Exec Committee stuff while they volunteered, which is more efficient to do without trying to bring someone else up to speed. There will probably be social opportunities, but this one is likely just logistics.

Give people the benefit of the doubt, otherwise you're going to waste a lot of time and energy feeling hurt for no true reason.

I would be hurt too OP

This, but I have anxiety.

I am sure there is a good reason, but it’s still rude. Someone should have at least texted you to let you know what was going on. They were on the sign up genius anyway, and it only takes a second to get contact information.

I really can’t imagine doing this to someone. Really, if I even found out any of my children and their friends did this to a new kid, even for what they felt was a good reason, they would be in trouble. It’s just mean.

Keep an eye on their spot and see if the fourth spot gets filled with one of their friends. They were probably holding the spot for her and when you signed up, they moved to another one. VERY rude, IMO.

Or, better yet, why don’t you move to the spot with them and take that final slot?!

In our NoVa school, I find people only sign up in the slot with their friends. I would be miffed too. But on the other hand, may be you will run into other nice parents.
