Teams play from 8 to 9 double header weekends. How can that possibly be healthy for kids over 15?

Well.....ECNL practices 3xs a week. So double headers are fine. It equals 5 days.

Kinda like DA who practices 4x a week and plays one game for a total of 5 days.

See..DA/ECNL =5

But what is really bothersome is when DA practices 4x a week and has a double header. And now there is the DA cup with even more double headers.

Talk about worrisome.

Mid Atlantic conference in DA only plays 3 double headers in the fall and that includes the showcase. Big difference between 9 and up to 12 with showcases in ECNL.

Weirdo or not does not change the fact that a typical Mid Atlantic ECNL team will play no less than 9 double header weekends.

And the following stretch of games must be particularly healthy and fulfilling to wrap up at a showcase:

11/2 11/3
11/6
11/8 - 11/10 ECNL Phoenix

Nothing like 5-6 games played within 8 days, plus a flight to Phoenix and back.

How many times does a DA player wear their uniform and practice/play a week?

How many times does a ECNL player wear their uniform and practice/play a week?

Five. The answer is five.

Let dig deeper, shall we.....

Playing time:
There are no reentry rules in DA. The stars are playing 80 minutes. No break. You know when kids are likely to get injured? When they're tired!

A ECNL kid can get 80 minutes total out of 2 games and a DA kid can get 80 minutes total from one game.

Want to go deeper? I can.

Practice is a far more controlled environment than a game is, full stop. A coach can determine the level of intensity of a practice. Yup, nothing like needing two days to get in 80 minutes of soccer. Who would want the Sunday off to rest if you could play 20 minutes because you played 60 on Saturday.

62 percent of organized sports-related injuries occur during practice

That's worrisome. Guess you better cut back on the amount of practices from 4 to 3.

DA sure is dangerous. Might explain why a local DA cant properly field an 03 team due to the amount of preseason injuries.

Nothing like having to spend another night in a hotel to get your 20 minutes in the next day.
