Blair was it. I don't understand why not enough people supported him. It seemed like everyone I know from MoCo definitely did. I'm curious who didn't like him. The thing is, the person we are looking for is NOT in the council nor anyone else already involved in MoCo politics. We needed someone from the outside.

Blair lost to Elrich in the primary, by only 77 votes.

The unions all got behind Elrich (as usual) and got the voter turnout among their members.

Most union members don’t live in the county.

Doesn’t he realize he IS management now? Is he saying he’s going to screw over all his employees too? Or is he the exception? And if he will be fair to his employees, is he arrogant enough to think he’s the only management who’s will be?

If this thread title were "Elrich is like Bernie in many ways" I would agree.

Or if it were "I don't like Elrich as county executive because..." I would have things to put on the list.

But "Elrich is the leftist Trump"? Nuh uh.

Not taking about politics here. We are taking about the ability to run government.

Read the original post, please. It’s about his inability to manage government.

So when I think about the problems with Trump as president, "can't manage" is nowhere near the top of the list.

But you do you, I guess.

20% aren’t union. They are more likely to live in the county because they make more and can afford to live here.

Sure, Marc Elrich is just like Trump, except Marc is a sweet old man who just wants to help people (even if what he does is not very effective), he listens to people and is actually a decent person.
I don't even always agree with his politics, but I know the guy and he truly wants to do good. I just think some of his views are stuck in the 60s about some things (he's from the antiwar, anti-machine hippie era, when being progressive and pro-environment meant fighting the Big Developer, whereas now I think more transit-oriented development is the progressive position, but I digress)
He has a great family and has foster children with Downs syndrome and he built a house for his daughter and grandchildren. He's a truly decent person, like his politics or not.

TRUMP is a pu$$y grabbing fascist pig who is promotes racism and misogyny, mocks disabled people, rage tweets at 5 am, calls journalists the enemy of the people, wants to have sex with his daughter, objectifies women and brags about it, loves dictators and tries to become one himself, lies over 10,000 times so far in his term, can't go a few hours in a day without lying, has the Saudi government stay in his hotels violating the Emoluments clause, takes action to destroy the environment and laughs about it, tries to lie and tweet his way to war with Iran, praises white supremacists, throws temper tantrums when people criticize him, and in many, many other ways, the lists goes on, demonstrates that he is a despicable, deranged bully who needs to be impeached.

Marc Elrich is a fat bumbling idiot. His whole administration is one disaster after another. Nobody wants to work to him and he can't take any responsibility for himself. I can't remember when our county government was so dysfunctional. Now I'm thinking Robin Ficker couldn't even have been this bad.

I’m watching in horror as he fumbles the police Chief appointment. Daily screw-ups. Mark my words, crime will increase during his term.

Chapman. Un-vetted. No background checks. Withdraws.

Same day he leaks the Park Police chief’s name. But that chief can’t qualify unless they amend a law. So now his name is out there for everyone to tear into him. And he might not even be elegible for appointment.

I know people hate hearing this, but I am so grateful every day that we moved out of that county last year.
