Yes, for whatever reason or excuse they gave one son a substantial inheritance while still alive. It doesn’t happen most times, but it does happen.
Perhaps there is more dysfunction, hard feelings, favoritism, or co-dependency in that family than meets the eye.

At least now you know their true colors.
