Stickfigure stickers on cars - why?

People who spend time making assumptions about those who put stickers on their car probably don't have more important things to think about.

Yes, but I also sort of don't get the stick figures specifically. School stickers=pride, tribalism. OBX=reminds you of your happy place. Stick figures of the people I already spend all my time with? Not so sure.

See I don’t get the OBX ones. Or all the OBX license plates. Why do you want to pay $10/year to tell us how much you love going to the godawful boring outer banks?

+1. OBX ones are the most obnoxious, IMO. Why advertise your annual vacation to OBX?!

I certainly find this funny.

Ha! I LOVE this one.

That’s gross. You’re trash if you put this on your car.

I am not from here originally, so maybe just do not understand the basic concept behind it. Why do people put these stickers of their families on the back window of their car? You know, stickfigures of Dad, Mom, First kid, second kid, third kid, dog, cat etc? It is sort of cute, but I also find it slightly irritating. Why do people think the person sitting in the car behind you wants to know how many kids you have? I am really curious why these families think anyone else other then themselves would care...

Why not?

I remember when they were a new thing and few people had them. It was kind of cute. Then everyone did it and now we all hate them.

I'll admit I loathed one a neighbor had - it included an "angel baby" stick figure. She had a still birth 5 years or so before the stick figure thing took off. I'm sympathetic to what she went through but thought of adding that to your car is tacky as hell. She is 100% redneck.

I don’t have any stickers, but I couldn’t care less if the person behind me doesn’t like something on my car. MYOB

I’m not a fan of the stick figures in general, but any woman that has had a stillborn baby gets a free pass in my mind. It must be strange to give birth to a baby, lose it, and then never have anyone know or acknowledge that the baby was one of your children and still is, even though not here any more. You wouldn’t even be able to talk about it without making people uncomfortable. Perhaps having a sticker is a way to get that information out there and be true to your feelings.

I love the one where there's a stick lady and 2 sets of paws. I've seen this in my neighborhood as well as on 95 a few times.

I guess people think they are fun? Why do people put any bumper stickers on their cars? For self-expression, fun, etc.
Our cars have no stickers or magnets, but these don’t bother me at all on other people’s cars.

Amazing.
