Stickfigure stickers on cars - why?

OP do a search. This has been discussed here.

People who spend time making assumptions about those who put stickers on their car probably don't have more important things to think about.

Yes, but I also sort of don't get the stick figures specifically. School stickers=pride, tribalism. OBX=reminds you of your happy place. Stick figures of the people I already spend all my time with? Not so sure.

It's cute. I don't put any stickers on my car, but I have no feelings whatsoever about what you put on yours. Who cares?

I don’t have them, not my thing. But, really, what’s it to you?
Anonymous
Because nobody cares what the random car behind them thinks, why would they?

I am not from here originally, so maybe just do not understand the basic concept behind it. Why do people put these stickers of their families on the back window of their car? You know, stickfigures of Dad, Mom, First kid, second kid, third kid, dog, cat etc? It is sort of cute, but I also find it slightly irritating. Why do people think the person sitting in the car behind you wants to know how many kids you have? I am really curious why these families think anyone else other then themselves would care...

Lol. First world problem. Don't look if you're irritated.

OP here - what is a DINK sticker? what does that mean?

That's too funny- haven't seen that sticker yet.

NP, but I just saw one last week and it made me laugh out loud. I don't put stickers on my car because I don't like the way it looks but I definitely enjoy looking at the ones people select. The best is when you have two that just don't go together - like one from their former life and one from their current. My friends and I circulate photos of those ones.

They're usually some kind of specific stick figures. Like each figure has something going on - a soccer ball next to their feet, a barbell in their hands, pom poms, something. I'm not sure I've even seen just four identical stick figures.

Sweetie, how can I not look when they put these stick figure things on their back window. They don't look at it, it's me behind them, sitting in a traffic jam who has to watch it....why don't they put it on their front window and look at it all day, LOL. Not a big issue, just wondering why people do it, that's all. I don't care how many kids you have and if you have a dog or not, seriously.

I think it's amusing. It's just a way for them to say they have a mom, a dad, two kids, a dog, and a cat.

Nowadays, you can't just say anything normal that won't offend or irritate people anymore.

OP, if you are irritated on a simple thing like that, you have issue(s).

Saw one once which had a blank spot for a parent and said “Position Vacant”. I liked that.

I promise you - I don't have issues, totally normal my dear.
Just don't get it, why you need to advertise it. It's not offending me, just find it strange that's it.

The stickers exist because there's a certain type of person who is just dying to have the world know things about them. All bumper stickers are like that to some degree. Vanity plates are certainly like that. Public instagram accounts and Facebook over-sharers are like that.

Personally, I don't get it. It's weird to me to want to broadcast information about yourself and your family to strangers.
