They weren't upset about the class they were upset about it being called yoga.
References to yoga are found throughout Hindu scripture.

i just want to know about that bird now too. i had never heard of it until here but that symbol is awesome and i love the symbolism! would it be appropriation to get a painting of that or a bumper sticker??

OP here, not a troll. I called her for a link, and the person who told me about the petition back-peddled and said she was exaggerating, but to prove her point of how absolutely horrid she found this other mom's tattoo, I guess. I dunno. She's kind of a wack-job. I still don't think I feel like the tattoo is appropriation?

The African chicken one y'all are talking about? I don't know. Appropriation means like to get some benefit out of another country's culture, where they could have but you took it, no? Like when you make headdresses instead of buying them from natives? Well...nevermind, because dreadlocks. I am rambling. I just feel really uninformed on this and I don't quite understand, and there does not seem to be a clear answer.

There’s a movie called “Sankofa” from the 90s? I saw it in theaters long ago, but it was on Amazon Prime Video a while back.
