Where are you going

Who is leaving?

Another shrevewood parent here - rumor is almost 20 teachers leaving.

They had a lot of teachers leave every year when we were at Shrevewood. Last year was our last year at S-wood. So glad to be done with that place.

NP - and I imagine it's impossible to get rid of the principal based on her demographics.

This guy is actually a violent sex offender and gang member. Your story is invalid.

I guess we will keep hearing this stories as Fairfax County continues the slow March towards sanctuary status. Fantastic.
. Lighten up. I was merely giving a personal example. I agree that an actual sex offender attempting to enter a school is more concerning that a non-offender being flagged at first glance. When licenses are scanned, it bring up anyone with that name. In this case, the system worked.

I'm not going to "lighten up" about a child sex trafficker living in our community and trying to enter an elementary school. This is beyond alarming. But hey as a PP pointed out he seems to be let off easy with our criminal justice system, including the fact that Fairfax county law enforcement no longer workers with immigration law enforcement. No wonder he felt brazen enough to walk right in. This is awful all the way around

Nothing to do with immigration since the guy is a US citizen.....immigrant does not = criminal!

I have a child at Shrevewood - it's not possible for them to give out stickers without scanning IDs. I've never had this happen (and I have stood in lines out the door waiting). I'm sure they'll be extra vigilant next week.

I guess security measures are different at various schools, because my kids' school uses stickers whenever there is a big event.

It will probably happen next week for the various success day events.

Shrevewood does this too. I know from experience. But the office staff knew me well, so maybe that’s why they let me get a sticker without question on these busy events.

Shrevewood does not usually do stickers for events. And no they were not extra vigilant. They are pretty lax.

Why? What is so off-putting about that principal?

Shrevewood parent here - I'm glad the system worked here. However, there is no way for a parent buzzed into the front door to be forced to report to the front office and get checked. I know this because when I spoke with DH about this incident, he was like "what license check?" only for me to find out that everytime he went to a school event (which wasn't as often compared to me) he got buzzed in and just went directly to the classroom or wherever the event was. He knows now

I think this goes for most schools in Fcps. You need to be buzzed in, but you can walk right past the office.
