There’s a lot out there about the failures of the Clinton campaign - most of it came out in the days/weeks right after the election and was quickly forgotten as we moved into the Trump administration. But here’s one article: https://theoutline.com/post/1422/shattered-hillary-clinton-campaign?zd=2&zi=e4jepcc5 “ In a telling anecdote, Bill Clinton warned his wife’s campaign headquarters not to underestimate the right-wing populist uprising behind Brexit last June, but Robby Mook insisted that his data ran counter to anecdotal evidence. Nearly all of Clinton’s strategy was derived from Mook’s analytics, which assumed, based on polling and Obama’s two victories, that the Midwest was a Democratic stronghold and thus did not need to be attended to with on-the-ground campaigning. But the analytics were flawed in several ways. They relied too much on obsolete data, as Mook declined to pay for new polls in the last three weeks before the election. They overestimated the final voter turnout after seeing strong early voting numbers. Most crucially, they overestimated how many Midwestern counties that went for Obama would go for Clinton. While Trump concentrated on states where his pro-manufacturing message resonated most, Clinton attempted to expand her presumed bloc of blue states outward into North Carolina and Arizona, both of which she ended up losing.” I certainly hope the D candidate this time will have better polling data! I guess there’s no telling, but really, we’ve all learned a hard lesson in 2016 that no states can be taken for granted. Obama had a true 50 state strategy and campaigned hard everywhere, in contrast to Gore and Kerry who leaned too hard on Florida, and Clinton who thought she had it in the bag and was just trying to win the PV. |
I was just waiting for someone to say this, and you didn't disappoint. Of course you won't believe that people around the world are fed up with leftist policies and are starting to wake up and vote in the more conservative candidates. Nope, your little echo chamber tells you this isn't possible. Guess what? It is indeed possible and will continue happening. And if Trump does win again in 2020, you're going to have to steel yourselves to act like grownups. Enough with your idiotic tantrums and foot-stomping. Grow up and accept the results, either way. |
When did the R's shoot down e-verify? It's in use, isn't it? |
Only a faaaar left liberal would think that. The pendulum *did* swing the other way - after eight years of Obama. It righted itself. |
+2 Or at the very least, I hope a Republican challenges him for the nomination. |
Excellent points. |
And why didn’t the GOP do something about the border when they had control of all three branches of government? Immigration didn’t seem to matter much to all of you until the Dems won the House. Why is that? |
Kids dying in custody is not the fault of the US. Those kids should never have been dragged on that journey to begin with. They *arrive* sick. Don't you dare blame that on border patrol. |
Why haven't dems do something about the borders?
Because illegal immigration is where their votes and power comes from (and felons). |
I'd ask those who want to keep talking about the borders to save it for another thread. Honestly, we know why you like Trump. We know your thing about the borders. We know you love the wall and don't much care about anything else vis-a-vis immigration.
This thread is about why Trump will lose, not why you keep supporting Trump. |
It's a fair way for you to capitulate and lose the argument. I understand. We'll keep this thread to why "Trump will lose". ![]() |
How many kids died in US custody between 2017 and now; and how many died in US custody the previous 15 years? |
Because the dems control one part of a three part government. They can pass all of the legislation they want, but the GOP won't take it up in the senate nor executive. The few times they tied to negotiate and thought there w a deal, Stephen Miller unraveled it. |
This assertion was made. Can we get names for these judges? |
Oh, please. Anytime there's a thread about something Trump did right, or deserves credit for, you liberals pile on with your hateful remarks. We'll talk about what we want, thanks. ![]() |
