a thread of optimism: why do you think Trump will lose in 2020?

I for one am tired of China stealing all our intellectual property. Huawei and ZTE are just the tip of the iceberg.

At some point, this idiocy has to stop.

Well on that we can agree: this idiocy has to stop

Yet you SUPPORT the insane China trade???? Lol!!

I'm young and I've seen your agenda. The priorities are really screwed up when you get in power and you've lost your minds.

Pushing trasgenderism and people who identify as whatever they want to to game the system. Absolutely ridiculous.

One restroom for all people until it leads to violence.

Reparations. Really?

Constant victimhood and playing one group off another to stay in power. Using ANTIFA and BLM to do it no less.

Dropping pallets of cash on our enemies and buying them off by showing weakness.

Political correctness run amuck. Obama gets the Nobel Peace prize and then turns around and drones everyone and attacks Libya.

I definitely don't want to go back to progressives in power. It's absolutely disgusting and they've shown us they can't be trusted.

The 2005-2008 conversations democrats pushed about needing to strengthen the FISA laws and courts to protect people turned out to be exactly what they abused under the Obama administration. Remember bugging the Associated Press? Bugging opposition candidates. It's absolutely disgusting.

+ 1,000,000 - Thank you so much!

kookie ideas like letting women have control of their bodies, of having global trade where our agricultural community can sell things rather than cash checks because of tariffs and where our national GDP impact on healthcare can be collectively reduced while providing more basic services to those who need it most.

Kookie.

Staying in the TPP would have been a step in that direction, but Trump pulled out of that first thing.

You mean returning cash to the country it belonged to in exchange for being able to keep a check on their nuclear intentions - something that was not only working, but was increasing the power of moderates in Iran in the meantime. At least until Trump started his BS there last year at the behest of KSA.

+1. People don’t talk about this as much as they should, but in 2016, the Clinton campaign had as much bad polling data as the Romney campaign had in 2012. Romney didn’t even have a concession speech prepared because his polling data showed him winning every swing state except one or two. He was blindsided by his loss.

The Clinton campaign polling data showed them winning PA, MI, and WI for sure. Possibly other swing states that she lost too. However, it also showed them LOSING the popular vote. In the last few weeks of the campaign, she spent too much time in either safe D or safe R states trying to run up the PV score, while ignoring those critical swing states, all of which she lost by a very slim margin. And she wouldn’t have even had to take votes from Trump - just turn out the people who voted for Obama in 2012, but who either stayed home or voted 3rd party in 2016. Seriously, I had friends on the ground with the Clinton campaign in PA in 2016 and they were basically ignored by the campaign in safe D areas (cities and inner-ring suburbs) where it’s important to turn out voters.

The D’s won’t make that mistake again. And Trump is quite unpopular in those three states. Combined with the fact that the other states that Clinton won are increasingly out of reach for R’s and I don’t think Trump will be re-elected. The fact that unemployment is low is the only thing keeping him even remotely afloat right now, and yet he’s still underwater on his approval rating.

What bugging of opposition candidates took place? Or are you talking about Trump operatives who were swept up because they were conspiring with Russians? I mean, there were "GOP" appointed judges who three times renewed the FISA warrants. That doesn't happen for no good reason. Maybe you don't understand what is actually required to get a FISA warrant, for if you did, you never would have typed this comment.

Just another govt fail. I'm not in favor of national infrastructure bills, so I hope this monstrosity goes away. This is all about taking tax money and paying off big corporate concerns.

Typical lib.

It was called ARRA and begun in 2009. It was renamed the TIGER grant program and, as trump does, renamed TIGER to BUILD. The program receives hundreds of millions each year. It has a 50% rural set aside.

Well said. People accuse Trump of going against the 1st amendment by calling out journalists and networks for "fake news."

Wasn't it Obama who spied on James Rosen (formerly Fox News) and targeted him as a "co-conspirator?" Yep.
And, yes, he obtained the records of 20 Associated Press office phone lines and reporters’ home and cell phones, seizing them without notice.
Wasn't it Obama who spied on the NY Times journalist James Risen? Why, yes it was.

So, people may not like Trump's rhetoric, but that does not compare to the Obama administration's actions.
And, folks wonder why we might believe that Obama had something to do with the whole Russian-Trump fiasco. Go figure.

Oh, and Joe Biden - that comment you made that the Obama administration didn't have a "hint of scandal." Sure. Maybe not a hint. The scandals in the Obama administration were out there for all to see, but forgotten by the compliant media.

The GOP had 100% oversight of the Obama Administration and conducted hundreds of hours of such hearings. Where are the indictments and proof of illegality from those hearings? Yuo typing it here doesn't mean it is true.

This is OP - why was Clinton's data so bad? And do you think the Dems will have better data this time?

Nope. It didn't belong to them. Payment for invading our embassy and taking 53 people hostage for 444 days. Also for shipping IEDs into Iraq during the Iraq wars, thus killing our soldiers. See how that works?

Which R is fighting to secure our border? Lol. We still have thousands of people crossing illegally! Nothing Trump is doing is working. Just causing massive PR problems for the US while kids die in custody. And R’s shot down e-verify because it would be bad for all the people in the US who hire illegal labor.

Who are these GOP appointed judges who renewed these warrants based on an unsourced / poorly sourced "dossier" that was quite literally generated by Russia? Give us their names?
