What is actually wrong with Britney Spears?

I’d like to see Brit-Brit start a bubblegum line. She chews the hell out of her bubblegum. I bet she could sell a ton of it.

My sister suffers from multiple mental illnesses and her meds always cause dry mouth. She is also constantly chewing bubble gum. It's something I noticed right away about Britney years ago. Obviously not a foul proof theory but makes sense.

I have bipolar and you just freaked me the f out. I've never heard this... Any articles or anything?

please, please don't buy this from some stranger on the internet throwing out false stats and ranges. this does not have to be you!

It's a spectrum disorder - it ranges from mild to severe.

Britney had it all.

Youth, beauty, talent, fortune, fame, a strong family & was adored by both guys and girls.

People copied her style + she almost got to be as famous as her idol Madonna.

But nothing lasts forever.
Her seemingly fairy tale of a life turned reality.

She hasn’t aged well (likely due to smoking & sunbathing,), her parents divorced, she lost a good guy

in Justin Timberlake.
Then married a guy like K Fed and became a young Mom, then going through a painful divorce, losing her kids in the process.

That would send anyone over the edge.

Life expectancy is shortened in bipolar disorder, but not as much as PP is indicating. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25846854

People are really super mean here. Her parents "pimped her out" to be a young Disney star and then lived off the gravy train for a long time. For those questioning her intellect, she had/has a lot of talent and it takes really hard work to perform every day in Vegas like she did I bet her parents or "handlers" medicate her to keep her going and to keep the gravy train alive.

She's probably a very nice, sweet girl who made every one else's life easier but her own. Her parents should be ashamed. Her story is no different than many other child star's who grew up to find those around them really didn't have their best interests at heart.

Agree with this. There is a reason most Disney stars end up extremely dysfunctional and so many are unable to lead normal adult lives.

Also entirely possible that her drug use in her twenties triggered a mental illness which requires her to be heavily medicated. It's not uncommon.

Thank you for writing this! I totally agree, she was used from a young age plus mental illness.

I think this. Bipolar is enough.

She is severely mentally ill. Many people presume bipolar disorder, but her diagnosis(es) are not a matter of pubic record.

She has a history of drug abuse (stated to be amphetamines by prior manager/hangeron in legal documents) around the time of the head shaving incident. She went to rehab. She was required to drug test etc to see her children after several incidents with the children that required CPS/police intervention.

She has had a conservatorship for many, many years now, which requires ongoing evidence of severe limitation or lack of competency resulting in inability to manage adult responsibilities such as finances. She is not even allowed to drive.

Her father (who is in charge of the conservatorship) recently became ill. It sounds like she either stopped taking her meds or they stopped working or she had a relapse. She went for inpatient stabilization.

"However, this may be misleading for patients with bipolar disorder in general as most patients have a later onset of illness. The aim of the present study was to calculate the remaining life expectancy for patients of different ages with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder."

First PP needs to learn how to interpret data on a basic level.
