I bought these Amazon Essentials tee-shirts and they are awesome! They are much better quality than the same type of tee shirts purchased from Target or Ann Taylor Loft. They are a thick stretchy cotton. I'll be buying several for the summer.

Bought a couple of these when I was pregnant. They are great for pregnancy and nursing as well, and super comfortable.

This is the OP - and there are some great links in this thread. The observation about the clothes being made by slave children in Vietnam is something that I'm thinking about - honestly I suspect these are made at the same factories as all the other clothes that most of us buy off the rack, though.
Generally I try to buy clothes secondhand to reduce my environmental impact (and my wallet). But I do buy some things new - usually t-shirts, sometimes other things. I often buy from Everlane which claims to work with better factories. Anyway: I'm eager to hear how others try to balance being a good person with being a clothes enjoyer and wearer. |
