Nonsense that perimenopause is to blame. Women in other parts of the world dont get fat in midlife because they dont eat junk.

+1. When I traveled to Italy 30 years ago I was struck by nearly every women of a certain age being “fat” (or in reality, normal for post-menopausal women).

Sophia Loren they were not.


Go to Asia and you'll find that women remain relatively slim over there, even in midlife. There's a lot of social pressure to not let yourself go unlike American women who embrace being "body-positive".

Yes, they really do. On average they do not get as heavy as women in the US, but they do get thicker in the middle.
