sounds good in theory, but it's hard to find part-time nannies, let alone part-time nannies responsible enough to coordinate with another nanny.

+1. We had friends who had a M-Th nanny for 40 hours and another nanny for Friday to avoid OT. The Friday nannies were always quitting. A 1-day a week jobis not a priority.

You rotated through several nannies because you didn’t want to pay the 10hours of OT? Maybe you can’t afford a nanny. It amazes me that so many people fee entitled to have a nanny that they end imup with subpar/rotating nannies. Find a decent daycare and move on with life.

For everyone else, offer what you can and see what you get. You won’t know any better anyway, so I’m sure you’ll be happy. As for me, I don’t work with families from Care and my experience and references allow me to make a living wage. Yes, I am better than the college kid you hired, just as I am better than I was when I was a college kid working as a nanny.

Reading comprehension issues? Someone was talking about why a Friday nanny doesn't work. Your rant isn't adding a lot of value.

That's decent pay and a perfectly reasonable workload, OP. However if she wants something that you cannot give her, she has the right to leave.

I don't see how the nanny thinks it would make sense for anyone to pay her more while also asking to work less hours. Who would go for that?! There was a reason you hired a full-time nanny to align with your FT work schedule. Why in the world would she think you'd agree to putting yourself in a lurch on Fridays for her benefit? And then paying her more for the inconvenience?

Turns out that you are only responsible for yourself, and as you may have noticed, all threads get off track. Look at what I was responding to as well as some of the other responses. It may not add value to OP, but that’s not always how life works. Additionally, I don’t think OP stated whether the nanny was due a raise or not, as that does make a difference, but they disappeared. Lastly, my comment added more value than yours ?

Exactly. Let her find her dream job with someone else.
