Prince Phillip in a car crash

Anonymous
Apparently the only reason he's alive is he was driving a reinforced armor-plate vehicle along the lines of those used by diplomats in dangerous localities and the first family. So yeah, this wreck would easily have topped Diana's as she was riding in a normal civilian limo without reinforcements.

Extensive damage can be seen, including scratches to paintwork and scuffed and dented wheel arches on the car.

On the left-hand panel of the car, scape marks – likely endured from the car skidding on the floor – appear to be at least six to eight inches long, with the door handle also dented significantly.

The Range Rover is likely to have been reinforced for use by the Royal Family.

Not really, that's not how it works in the UK. The baby wasn't injured, the mother had a few cuts and the other woman in the car has a broken wrist, so no serious injuries to anyone. Obviously they will be covered for the damage to the car, and could claim for any loss resulting from needing to take days of work, or perhaps some physiotherapy for the one with the broken wrist, though all of that will probably be on the NHS anyway. The police are investigating the accident and Philip may well be prosecuted (though he could avoid prosecution by surrendering his license), especially if the passengers in the car push for it. But they are unlikely to make much money from bringing a civil claim, as there's no concept of punitive/special damages in English law, and they really didn't suffer much loss.

Speaking from personal experience, it's possible that the broken wrist is a serious injury. It could have an impact on the use of your hand for the rest of your life.

More like terrifying. He's lucky. Incredibly so.

He is lucky. But it is luckier still that his behemoth reinforced Landover didn’t pancake the Kia and kill those passengers, including a 10 month old baby. It’s kind of gross that a brand new replacement car was delivered to Sandringham early today. Not looking like he’s getting off the road. Not a good call for the BRF.

Exactly. That's an American insanity.

Agreed. Worse - the 92-year-old Queen was seen driving around the same estate the next day. I think it was a point of support for her husband but maybe also thoughtless (like the gold piano). She also wasn't wearing a seatbelt...

The Queen was spotted driving her Range Rover without a seatbelt a day after Prince Philip’s crash, little more than a mile from the scene of her husband’s accident

Breaking news - not only is Prince Phillip back to driving - a clear 'f u' to everyone watching...but he's been in seven other accidents.

Looks like that insanity has crossed the pond. The victim is out for blood...and money.

The woman who broke her wrist in a car crash with Prince Philip has revealed her “pain, shock and upset” – and says the Duke has NOT apologised to her.

Weeping Emma Fairweather tells how the horrific collision unfolded “in slow motion” and says she “couldn’t stop screaming” as Philip’s Land Rover crunched into her friend’s Kia.

Mum-of-two Emma, who turns 46 on Sunday, says she has heard nothing from Buckingham Palace – despite officials saying that contact had been made “privately and well wishes exchanged”.

Yep. Not only was he driving himself at 97 but he apparently ordered his RPOs to stay back. They didn't show up to the scene until AFTER the lawyer who first arrived at the wreck had pulled Prince Phillip out of the car through his window and before that rescued the mother and baby from the car.

I bet some of his recent "health problems" are senility related.

It sounds as though he has never been a good driver and has caused many other car accidents before.

What a selfish a$$ if he is back to driving on public roads. Don't the royals have large enough estates to drive on if Philip won't give up the wheel?

Annnnnd the PR nightmare continues. You'd think the Queen's household would be able to get a handle on this? If only Phillip had taken a second to apologize.
