To summarize, your child is not good enough to earn any merit aid so you are jealous of your FB friend and lashing out here? |
Woww I am so glad I went to HS / college before you crazies got on social media |
I had a friend post her son's IQ score on FB. That was effing tacky. |
Interesting you would mention that. First of all, DS is a senior entering college. Yes, he did get an offer for merit aid to one of his schools, but he declined that school. Also as a rising 9th grader, he got merit aid at a Catholic high school here in DC and he turned that down as well. So your summarization is quite inaccurate. |
+1 million. |
Ugh. And I bet the son was 3 years old. |
He was on the young side--my friend is pretty impulsive and was over the top proud, so I didn't hold it against her- but it was definitely weird. |
But here you are, still not letting this thing go. The problem is you, OP, not your so-called FB friend. You can't control other people; you can only control your response to other people. Your anger as evidenced by your continued posts is really absurd for someone who is supposed to be an adult. Your reaction is completely over-the-top. |
Not over the top to set record straight. Son got merit aid. That is a fact. Should one just let others state falsehoods? I think not! No anger either, not sure where you get that. This is just a time passer for me. Why do you engage? |
DP. You are jumping on critical posts pretty fast. No one would care except that it seems very important to you to point out that your friend is over the top but you are not in what you put on Facebook? Its' the hypocrisy that is maddening - and that you don't see it. |
Hi, was this fast enough? Sorry you are so disturbed over it. Maybe you need to move on. |
I am not on FB. I just realized how much better my life is.
BTW, I won't give a rat's ass of where someone kids got into any school or college. It is so not a big deal for me and won't register to me at all. |
Why post the acceptance letter? Why not just post “Larlo is excited to attend XYZ university this fall!”. The letter is what makes it obnoxious imo. |
Very few Catholic high school acceptances are worth bragging about. The DC Big Three, on the other hand... |
OP here...exactly. Which is why we turned down the merit aid. |
