I’m 18 and want to date an older woman, is there something wrong with me?

A big age differential in the teens and 20s is also usually a proxy for a big power and experience differential. This creates leader/follower type pairs where advantage can be taken.

FWIW, I dated a 29 y.o. when i was 18 and I regret it.
why do you regret it?

See paragraph 2.

Most 18 year olds can't make sense of your paragraph 2.

I dated a 31 year old divorcee when I was 21. I also regretted it.

I think I felt that I was mature for my age (and I think I was, relatively), and I connected better with "real" adults than I did with my peers.

I dated people older than I was until I met my now spouse, who, ironically, is a year younger.

OP, perhaps you don't need to date a MUCH older woman as much as you are having a hard time finding someone you connect with who is your peer. That sucks. But it is at least a problem you will outgrow, once everyone around you matures.

The sexual experience that a younger guy can have with an older woman, is amazing. Their experience and maturity level adds to the experience. Ask me how I know.

You may just have a strong desire to sow your oats w/an older woman.

But you are still a kid yourself.
You cannot even legally enter a bar.

Enjoy your youth.
Just make sure not to burn any bridges in the process since anyone over 35 will likely be seeking something more solid than you or any other teenager can realistically offer.

How old is your own Mother?
Would it be weird to date someone in her peer age group??

Because it ruined him for women his own age. He can only get it up for women 10+ years older now. It’s such a cross to bear.

Op you will have more luck if you are willing to date transgender women and be the receiver.

When I was in my late 20's, I dated a 50 yo; we stayed together for 5 years. We broke up because I realized I wanted to be a parent some day. We remain friends (I am now in my mid 50's; she is in her late 70's)

The difference is, I was an adult.

My guess is you are looking for a older woman to have sex with, not a deep relationship. I am not going to judge. One advantage of a 50+ woman is birth control becomes a non-issue. (STD threat remains).

I have no advice, other than to suggest tinder.

I think your last sentence is exactly the reason for this thread. I think he’s heard that “cougars” have no standards so he has a chance.

Trust me, we all face reality eventually that women, despite losing their looks as they age, get even more pickier. And then they complain about how hard it is to find a good man.

Insanity.

No, sonny, but I *would* be f*cking his skinny and inexperienced self (see the rest of my sentence).

Look, I get it - Millennial women seem awful and self-absorbed and you're interested in Gen-Xers who are smart, funny, sarcastic and independent and didn't grow up in a time when it was necessary to sign a consent form to have sex.

The problem is, to us most Millennial men seem socially inept.

It's just more intense. Older women know what they want and aren't afraid of asking, showing, or demanding it. They aren't in a rush and have interest in men who can have multiple erections in a hour. It was just a wild and exciting experience.
