| Are you really sure these shoes actually FIT? My son is 9 and in a size 2, maybe 3, and 90th% for height. All of his friends wear these HUGE shoes that flop around like Bozo feet when they run because they are obviously too big. Is it like a bragging right that your kid has "big feet"? |
Welcome to Lake Wobegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average. |
Haha, this. My just turned 8 year old is 4’9 and he is noticeably the tallest kid in his class… |
| My kid is 4’4” at best, and wears size 2 |
| My son turned 8 a month ago and wears size 5. He is 4’6” and 90% for height. I can wear his sneakers (women size 6 1/2 or 7), and sometimes put his on by mistake. He is quickly outgrowing them and not sure if I should next buy 5 1/2 or 6. Noticed at trampoline birthday party that his feet and shoes stood out. |
| my kid is a size 2. he is 8 1/2. |
| My almost 9 year old just moved to size 6. We now wear the same shoes. He is just shy of 5 feet. |
What kind of big headed Todd are you raising |
| My son is not quite 8 1/2 yet, but he is in kids (or men’s) size 7 / 7.5. He is in the 98th percentile for height. |
| Was just fitted at a shoe store so accurate. 8 yo boy average height size 13.5. |
| 3.5Y (average height, almost 9yo) |
Yep! My son is 4’9” and we’ve only met one kid his age who is slightly taller. FWIW, he wears a 6 in every day shoes, a 7 (needs adult size for that now) in sports cleats. |
Your son's entire friend group has parents who buy their kids shoes too big? That seems...unlikely |

My 8 yr old daughter is in size 6 or women’s 8.
She is 4’9” and about a full head taller than her classmates. |
