Under CLASS? See below.

What does CLASS assess? CLASS focuses on teacher-child interactions. CLASS assesses processes rather
than structure. Tis means that CLASS is not looking at the content of the physical environment, materials, or specifc curricula. At the broadest level, CLASS describes three domains of teacher-child interactions that support children’s learning and development: Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support.
• Emotional Support captures how teachers help children develop positive relationships, enjoyment in learning, comfort in the classroom, and appropriate levels of independence.
• Classroom Organization focuses on how teachers manage the classroom to maximize learning and keep children engaged.
• Instructional Support involves how teachers promote children’s thinking and problem solving, use feedback to deepen understanding, and help children develop more complex language skills.

Apparently it's a lot easier to run a successful advocacy organization promoting public Montessori schools than actually running a successful public Montessori school.

How do they calculate the state assessment growth for middle and high schools?

It is spelled out in the technical guide. Here's the 17-18 one https://dcpcsb.egnyte.com/dl/2non0FZSct

I THINK the scoring measures the previous calendar year (so this year's tiers are last year's re-enrollment, etc)... so this score would be basically Breakthrough's first year in operation scores? I may be wrong. It takes some schools a few years to get their feet under them.

Yes this is the PMF score reflecting 2017-18, the school's second year in operation. Breakthrough opened in SY 2016-17.

No charter school with as affluent a student body as Breakthrough has, has ever scored this poorly on a Tier report - new or not.

Breakthrough families, let us know the school's messaging tomorrow? ( I think the actual tiering is embargoed until tomorrow and we, the DCUM, spoiled it)

Embargoed? Not a very effective embargo. The reports are all on a publicly accessible website. A parent pulled up the report on her phone during dismissal at my kid's school.

I don't see the report. Have they pulled it down?

Which one do you need? There's no aggregate, but I can link individual schools

So is Thurgood Marshall, KIPP Collegiate and Friendship Tech Prep High School but is anyone on this board going to those schools given the high at-risk populations? Granted, WLA is in Ward 5 so that's a plus.

I know people at Thurgood Marshall and Friendship Tech, but don't think they read this board. Both solid options if you can figure out the commute.
