Dude, why on earth would you choose morphine? It’s not a recreational drug. Do coke, molly, or shrooms. |
I was given a dose of dilaudid while in the hospital for ruptured appendix. It was incredible, felt like I had warm honey flowing through my veins. I wouldn't let them give me anymore after that because it felt so good, I was afraid I'd get hooked.

Morphine makes me puke and I don't get high. No thank you. |
I had morphine after my appendectomy. It was fantastic, it killed all the pain so I could sleep. I would never just take it if I didn't need it, though. |
I've already had it in a hospital and it caused the worst constipation of my life. Why would I want to take it recreationally? |
I had it while in labor when they had to send me home... It didn’t take any of the pain away but I was able to get a bit of food down before my water broke and I headed back to the hospital. |
Yikes, no interest. I even hate taking cough syrup with codeine. I have this weird out of body experience where I can't really move but am not asleep either (but at least I am not coughing). I hate the sensation.

I had it in the hospital after I had my baby. I don’t remember it being over the top or anything. Now, when I was given OxyContin or oxycodine after my wisdom tooth removal surgery I was seriously messed up. I couldn’t even walk to the toilet and DH had to help me there. That’s when I tried to start the game of thrones series and was seriously so delirious I just cried and cried. The also offered it to me during a miscarriage recently and I declined! |
OP is your marriage so broken that this seems like a good idea? I feel bad for you. |
My memories of being on morphine after surgeries are of nausea, pain, heavy brain fog, and feeling like I was never going to be clear headed again. Just miserable. I always stop taking pain meds as soon as possible. Interesting how it affects people differently. |
Yep. The doctor you're looking for is Dr. Conrad Murray. I'm assuming he's currently unemployed and available. |
I think it's totally insane and just asking for trouble.
Watch a few youtube vids on the opioid epidemic in this country. Some of them are the 'drug addict type' but some are normal people that started with just one dose for some innocuous sounding reason and now they're full blown addicts. No thank you. |
Good god, no.
Why would anyone willingly seek out drugs? |
Exactly! Also, I think Americans have a problem accepting that pain is part of living. It's a quick-fix-in-a-pill culture which also explains the rise of SSRIs and ADHD meds which are being overprescribed. In my country, Japan, people can only get access to morphine in a hospice as a terminally-ill patient. America should be the same way and it wouldn't have the opioid crisis it had now. |
Most common reaction: hives, itching, nausea and constipation. There's nothing fun about it. Go smoke weed if you want to try recreational drugs. Morphine is for pain management. |
