Am I too young for JJill?

They have all the old lady stores next to each other at our mall.

Do you wear a tank or cami under this to work? Do you work in a professional office?

Same.

This made me curious so I went to j jill l and while I agree it can lean matronly, especially on a curvy body I did just buy a few simple dresses. I like some looser clean lined, poncho styles in moderation with a very slim pan and a heeled bootie. But I am older than some posters at 51 (did not dress this way before now) and a therapist so the Eileen appeals, if balanced by other shapes as well. Go with what you like. Interestingly, my teenage daughter still steals and wears my sweaters even though they are very simple and boring.

Poster above, I meant to say a slim pant

Honestly, OP, try it on and see how it fits you. Get it tailored if you need to. Don't listen to some of these horrid shrews who just want to use their anonymity to put down everyone.

Well you must fit right in, since old ladies are the only ones that still go to malls...

JJill is having a great sale right now. I have never worn their clothes but I wandered into the store the other day and bought a few tops that are flattering and not frumpy. (Some of their stuff is frumpy; you just have to try it on.) Size down by one size. I am also a size 8/M (5'3" 142 - would also love to lose those last 10 pounds that I can't really call babyweight anymore) and wore a small or petite small at JJill.

If you are under 80, you are too young.

I still might try some sweaters, but I hate hand washing, and as a working mom you probably don't have time for all that

What about JCrew? Or White House Black Market? I agree with The Limited suggestion as well, when I was in my 30s it worked well for office wear.

Why did you resurrect a thread that is 2.25 years old?

The colleague who recommended JJill to me is 33. I am 55 but she thinks I am in my early 40s (I age well). I think it is all in what you buy. The clothes I've purchased from JJill have been very well made, launder well, and I always get compliments when I wear them.

I do agree with the PP that it is odd that someone searched out this thread that is so old and then make a contribution that is snide. Like, really? You had nothing better to do than to mock??? It must be sad to be you.

Because no one has ever answered this questions sufficiently. I am a child psychiatrist in my 30s and these clothes look perfect for crawling into box forts with autistic 7 year olds.

And I must add that I am going to buy myself a tunic and some pants and a cardigan from JJill immediately. I dressed like this in my 20s, but with crap I bought at Ross that just fell apart after a while.

Hi! I'm the OP from 2018. I never did buy anything from J.Jill. . . In fact, now that I think of it, I never bought any new work clothes at all!

Since we've been WFH since March 2020, I stocked up on a bunch of Athleta sweatshirts, cardigans, joggers and leggings, and Old Navy Luxe tanks. I suppose I'll need to buy some new work clothes and lose 5 lbs to get back to 150 before I have to step back into the office (whenever that will be). Still digging the tunic/long cardigan with skinny pants look, though. It's probably frumpy but it's comfortable and looks fine on zoom, so it is what it is.

I'm OP. Yes, I still like this monochrome look: https://www.jjill.com/product/we-layering-tank?color=DFH
