Where is he during the current wars? The coward has yet to visit a combat zone. We just had a change of command in Afghanistan. Trump never met the US commander who has been there for his entire presidency.

The President authorized the trip not out of the goodness of his heart, but because the sniveling McCain family is relentless in their entitled demands and would have skewered him (unfairly) if he didn’t do so. It was an honor that McCain didn’t deserve, just like the eulogies from two past Presidents who themselves admitted how surprised they were that he asked them to speak. And the three funerals (Arizona, DC, and Annapolis), and the lying in State in the US Capitol, and military jet flyover, and on and on. Does that family have no shame?!

I believe the first, calling McCain's family names, is a Trumpster. Liberals tend to be lukewarm on McCain but respectful. The hate is coming from the right.

But, yes, denying use of the plane to transport the body and family of a sitting member of congress would be disrespectful. I'm mildly surprised Trump allowed it but don't think he deserves any special acclaim for following presidential norms, even if that is something of an exception for him.

Because most POTUSes are too busy doing the job of POTUS to need a high five and special praise for signing a pro for a documenting allowing the right thing to be done. They just quietly do it, and move on. Trump does it and expects a 21 gun salute.
