Sports parents suck. The hecklers and OP.

I have seen a lot of very skilled girls played in this area- and the only ones who get 'heckled' are the ones that play dirty. Inapproriate shoving, tripping, hair pulling, etc... I have seen all of that and when that happens- I have hard parents say things like, 'hey #9- not cool' or 'ref. you going to call that o #9'

But the skilled players who also have good sportsmanship-often get compliments and cheers have the opposing parents.

The coaches are not dumb and hear and see what is going on.

Do not sit near the hecklers, stay on your side of the field, across from your kids bench. That is a sure fire way to have a fist fight on the sidelines, its against the rules in some leagues and is bad sportsmanship.

DD has a good friend who is very talented at multiple sports and she does dominate a lot of games. They are on all the same teams and I haven't seen her heckled once. She's big, fast and has the ball a lot of the game but she's also a very graceful player who maneuvers around other players so no one is run in to or knocked aside. I've seen other dominant players who are more rough around the edges get criticized by other parents and their children. It's wrong but there's a difference. OP seems to be very focused on how great her daughter is and how horrible the parents are but doesn't seem to understand that if this is something that happens in multiple teams and multiple sports something else is going on too.

This, I have two kids who play club sports and have never seen parents “heckle” an opposimg player. I have seen parente go to far in heckling refs. Op, if your daughter is so dominate, perhaps move her to a more competitive teqm or league or have her play up a year. Your daughter’s coach can help with thi, or can speak to the refs if your daughter is unfairly targeted. It is not unheard of for refs to speak to a sideline that is out of line.

There is no excuse -NONE- for the yelling, heckling, etc. I see in kids sports. There are refs and umps to call the foul. If that's not you, then shut it.

Nope. Not my experience at all. Parents in rec league sports -where we have been for years- are absolutely over-the-top. Heckling players, screaming, rubbing in wins, and yelling at umps/refs. We had one instance in a baseball game where a player was hit by the ball pretty hard. A parent of the other side lost his mind when he thought one of our players took a base against the rules when the play happened. Yelling at the player to get back a base, yelling at the ump. . . the ump actually had to turn away from the injured child to address the parent and remind him that they'd deal with the score/runs after the injury. This is only once instance. This is REC (and not even a competitive rec league). It's vile.

Then you should move it of rec. I don’t see this in the travel program we are in. I rarely see parents say anything.

Okay, but I have three kids who are in lots of sports and the only time I have seen this extent of upset from parents is when an otherwise talented kid was elbowing and pushing players down and the ref wasn't calling it. The parents were mean and wrong but they were reacting to being worried for their child's safety. I have never, not in many years of watching many different kinds of sports at higher levels and lower levels, seen parents act like this just because a child could "out run their kids and steal the ball away from them and score." Never. No one is saying your child is doing anything wrong on purpose but you seem really defensive to a fault.

I have 4 kids who have played various rec sports thru SYA and I have never, ever seen behavior like this.

Then you should move it of rec. I don’t see this in the travel program we are in. I rarely see parents say anything.

A) We don't want to do travel. B) We've played travel teams and it's worse there. C) Your post wasn't helpful.
