If it is public info you can post the name.

Alert the media? Oh, honey. That is the wrong instinct. And it’s not newsworthy besides. |
Hey, you, stop bullying OP! OP, you're not a coward. OP, you've done your research, and it uncovered probably moe than you bargained for but not really more than you expected. Kuddos to you for not ignoring your hunch and digging a little deeper. This woman needs help. |
Exactly. |
|
To the OP, please report this. Not to get anyone into trouble but to get people help. You aren't accusing anyone of anything if you are sharing information that is in the public record. To all the people bashing her, please wake up. This is how people and kids get hurt. Plain and simple. Adults can protect themselves, kids cannot. Kids need adults to stand up and speak out. Even when it's hard, even when it's uncomfortable. Especially then.
Call / email / write not only the principal but the superintendent himself. He has stated publicly that is what he wants. You aren't making allegations, you are reporting what you have been told. Let them take it from there. Please make the report, please ignore people bashing you. If more people paid attention and spoke out more kids wouldn't be hurt. Please |
Thank you. And thanks to the person who had a problem with the PP who was so oddly aggressive on this. Now I’m confused about what to do though. It’s only a code of conduct violation if she didn’t report the arrest, and for all I know she did. It’s not overkill to email the superintendent? Would you email or call? And teachers do drive kids but they’re not supposed to do it alone and there’s supposed to be permission from parents. That said if you have a kid who plays sports then you know some teachers are loose about this stuff. |
OP again and that's just public shaming. No thank you. |
| If you can prove the teacher is drinking at school -- then you should report it. |
| Tell the school to investigate before you have the PTA do it. |
No, I will not. Good Lord, pp, stop using the word “bully” incorrectly. You do a disservice. She hasn’t uncovered anything but a DUI arrest. That’s literally it. And she better hope it’s the same person. Could be more than one person out there with the teacher’s name. I am reacting to the cowardly approach of making an anonymous accusation. Nothing more. She should put her own reputation on the line when besmirching someone else’s. |
"That's it" concerning a dui? A dui is evidence of a terrible, dangerous act that the teacher should be truly ashamed of. She could have killed you or your child while she was doing it. I don't blame op for being worried about her judgement and taking her daughter's concerns seriously. |
| A lot of drunk teachers posting here. |
"There is a DUI arrest of somebody with the same name and address as the teacher" is not besmirching someone's reputation, it's stating a fact (if it is, indeed, a fact). |
| OP--interestingly, in MCPS you have to report an arrest, but not for DUI. They only care about controlled substances or sexual stuff or violence--seems like a strange omission, given how much a DUI reveals about a person's judgement. Maybe MCPS people are just ok waiting until it comes up on a background check? For other offenses, it's a code of conduct violation if you don't report within 7 days. Does anyone know otherwise? Am I interpreting this correctly? |
And to this point, it is 100% the right person. That part isn't at all in question here. |
