I think expensive designer handbags make you look stupid

I hear you, OP. People spend a lot of money on stupid sh*t.

DH here, my wife has an extensive bag collection. I could honestly car less if that’s what she wants to spend money on. In the grand scheme of life it really isn’t a big deal.

She does look hott with a nice bag and 4” loubs though. That is worth the price right there for me.

No man I know knows what a nice bag is and certainly not "loubs" vs random no name high heels.

You need to meet a better class of man.

Let me guess, your husband wears jorts and white high tops?

Some women need those types of items to look "hot." Others are more naturally beautiful, regardless of what they're wearing.

The guy I’m dating knows what Louboutains (sp?) are. The red soles are distinctive.

Not PP but “better class of man” is not a dude who knows fashion designers to me. I don’t want a pantywaist.

She is lying.

No, it's true. I'm a new PP but I bought chanel bags in 2010 and they have more than doubled in value. I have made hefty profits on ebay!

It's "me" not "I".

I love my Chanel 2.55. DH gave it to me when we started dating 10 years ago. I love love love this bag.

You can spend whatever amount of money you want for whatever expensive handbag YOU want.

But, you don't need to put others down because they are not carrying an expensive handbag or their shoes are from Payless.

I also must add that some men know what are designer bags and shoes. DH came from the family of fashionable women and his mom and sister both have fancy bags, shoes and jewelry. It just depends on the environment. Also depends on the industry. In my industry everyone (men and women) notice what you wear. So I don't understand the judgement about looking stupid. Perhaps it is stupid in your environment?

I’m still bummed I wasn’t able to catch this woman coming out of Metro in 2006 to ask her what her purse was. She had the most gorgeous purse I have ever seen. I don’t remember much about it, but I think it may have been Valextra. Just stunning in its simplicity and craftsmanship.

Not that I should spend that on a bag for my Baggallini lifestyle, but it was so beautiful.
