Thanks Swami!

(And to others, we know we probably have some wasted spots after our #5, but already had identified all the safeties we would consider based on school and commute.)

I don't think you have wasted spots. I do think the likely result of your list is Langley or Noyes, but you knew that.

They'll land at Sela IMO. #notswami

Of course they have wasted spots. No way in hell someone doesn't get into Sela... but gets into 2 Rivers! Is it possible that you don't understand what a wasted spot means?

Given that you're guaranteed at Miner, listing something else at #12 is literally irrelevant.

Lurker here: I am seeing a dearth of WOTP names in these lists. Have people given up trying to get these spots or is it a commute issue?

Nearly all people posting are asking about Pk3 (doesn't exist WOTP) as well as a few PK4 (virtually impossible to crack WOTP), and a couple Ks.

+1, I was wondering the same thing. Maybe PP is one of those playing for fun.

Our kids are not at Deal. We are IB for Deal, but they are at a HRCS. We have friends at Shepherd dealing with bullying issues in the older grades, so we don’t want to them there.

That's too bad. It's a great school. I haven't heard of any recent bullying issues, but then again I don't have my finger on the pulse of what's going on in the upper grades.

Swami says get rid of the gas guzzler because you are going to be running all over the city next year. Eldest in at BASIS, and you think DC is going to mesh with the model, but you can't stand the S bus route for such a little kid. You will keep the others at Shepherd and worry about kid 3 who has nothing BASIS about her.

Swami guesses maybe you haven't moved to the city yet, because this one is all over the map. You are going to be disappointed by your draw, unfortunately... really disappointed. You will get into Langley, feel all great about it, attend all the playdates, and move IB for one of your higher choices bumping to the top of the WL...

Thank you Swami

Swami says you are going to be one of the lucky ones-- the universe is rewarding you for a balanced list. You won't get into DCB off the bat, but will by July. You will hate the traffic and congestion until Junior finally masters the escorted and DCUM-required helmeted scooter to school by November.

The gift horse gets you into BASIS. You play out your HRCS middle school with some trepidation instead because you aren't loving the hours of homework.
