Glasses if you are VERY nearsighted (high index)

OP thanks for posting an update. Did yours turn out super thin (meaning hard to tell you have a high prescription?) Can I ask how much they ran you? I want to do the same, but never thought I could wear mine in public because of my myopia! Thanks.

So you can tell a little from the side that I have a high prescription. More so than in my smaller frames. But for me, having the more stylish frames outweighs that downside. It's not drastic, but YMMV.

I paid $1,200. I know it's a lot. You can definitely spend less than that. I wanted them NOW and I wanted what I wanted.

Another update - I just got some really cute Kate Spade prescription sunglasses for less than half of what I paid for my regular glasses. You can go slightly lower index with those given they are so tinted. I got those from my eye dr., who gets a good discount. I go to Visionary Opthamologists in Rockville - they also have a DC location.
