When do they notify about HS magnet school acceptances?

Don't fret - there are many people who did not get the letter today.

Thanks, yes, I know timing only reflects on Post Office delivery times. Two years ago, letter was super late, but was still an acceptance

Another acceptance for SMCS and Ecology at PHS.

Has anyone heard from RM IB?

My DD was rejected by Richard Montgomery IB yesterday. I wonder if the acceptances went out at the same time?

Acceptance from Blair or rejection?

Acceptance/rejections go out the same time.

I always wonder about these acceptance/rejection timing conjectures. I do understand that they all get dropped off at the mailing facility on the same day, but every time I'm in this vortex busying myself while waiting for the letter(s) & reading these threads, I notice that it does seem clumpy. (& I've done this a lot)! Could it be that the letters are sorted and, while dropped off at the same day, they are not all processed at the same time. So, say, one year they start w/ acceptances or another rejections. It seems that this year, no one who got an early letter received an acceptance for Blair or RM? Maybe the rejection boxes sorted first? Poolesville is a smaller pool, so it would make more sense that both have been received.

And, yes, I know I am way overthinking it. And, yes I have now too much time on my hands w/ the 2 hour delay. And, yes, I do realize some of it is the delivery end,

And, yes, I am still biting my nails for dd and waiting. I really should distract myself with work, but mail theories would also do.

Could be that larger heavier (acceptance) envelopes get sorted and shipped off faster by the post office.

Stop! You need some distraction...Kylie had her baby girl!

Distraction!
Blame Post Office!
My DS got acceptance to MS several years ago almost a week later (school refused to release info over e-mail)! My DD never got letter from PHS at all. I had to call and e-mail school office. She was waitlisted and later accepted. So do not overthink. Just wait.

There was some mention of the size of envelope being different in rejection versus acceptance. Is there a difference. My DD wants to open herself but is super super nervous about it, and I was just wondering if I could get a heads up of what to expect by envelope size.

Hoping they come in mail this afternoon. The waiting is driving DD crazy!

Just FYI..RM acceptances come in a very thin envelope. (unless something has changed), they look like a rejection until you open it. Blair SMACs sends a large envelope and is a more obvious admit from the outside.
