OP here.
Trying again but did immune issue testing. My NK cells were high and Abbasi is recommending IVIG. Anyone have an idea of how much that costs? We are going to do a day three transfer with the best and brightest I have available. Anyone else just not do the infusions? |
| I did a 7 day fresh transfer of 2 embryos that resulted a wonderful singleton |
I only get maybe. 4~5 eggs upon retrieval, of which sometimes all normally fertilize or only 1 or 2 fertilize, too risky to wait till Day5. Hence, Day2 or Dy3 transfer for me. And, I have DD from Day2 fresh transfer (but I was 37 back then). |
| 1 cycle nothing made it to blast, next cycle had 5-6 to use/freeze, and 1 healthy baby. For me I thought the protocol was the issue, and we used a different one the second time. We did not do PGS but had a CVS later. |
| That’s our plan. I’m just hoping at least one sticks! Has anyone does IVIG? |
| OP- going for a three day transfer tomorrow with 3 eggs that were 4 cells today. Anything I should know? |
| Good luck!!! |
You can try intralipids, which is much cheaper. Sometimes it's enough, but not always. |
| Didn’t do either. Transferring 4 right now! |
| I hope you have good luck, OP. I'm also 38 and I have a similar problem with having an good amount of eggs at day 4, but few blastocysts at day 5/6. So far, I've done the short antagonist protocol (only one embryo at day 6, fresh transfer BFN), then two versions of the lupron long protocol (with different doses of meds) that resulted in 3 embryos each (only one PGS normal embryo on the third cycle, FET day 6, BFN), and most recently a microdose lupron protocol that resulted in 5 blastocysts (two of which were PGS normal, I have an upcoming FET with one embryo this month). The microdose lupron cycle with no BCP beforehand was my best cycle in terms of results, and I used very little medication. |
|
OP-My gut has told me not to do the birth control. I may do one more cycle and ask if we can do no BC, micro dose lupron, follistism, and menopur. Then do a 3 day transfer again. I only usually need 10 days of stims to get 7-8 eggs. I think its over suppression (makes sense?).
Do you have any other obstacles other than being 38
Thanks |

PP-Yes, I have one other challenge beside being 38. I have endometriosis, which can make stimulation more difficult and reduce egg quality. However, my RE thinks that I was being over suppressed by the BCPs and Lupron long protocol. One benefit of the microdose lupron/no BCP start is that the cycle goes very quickly! Oh, I wouldn't have been able to transfer on day 3 because I had a mild case of OHSS. We had planned a freeze all protocol.
I hope you have very good luck! |
| Thanks! I was wondering because we can’t really find a reason. FSH is 6 and AMH is 1.0 We typically get 7-12 eggs. None are good. |
| Yeah, it is so frustrating when you have normal numbers! I'm happy my normal numbers got me into the shared risk program, though! I think a change in protocol is worth a shot. Our eggs were "fried" with the short antagonist, and improved as we moved through the lupron protocols to the microdose. Let us know how things progress with you. |
| Transferred 4 and none took. Is it really possible that I just don’t have any good eggs left? Anyone have success after this sort of disappointment ? I have three attempts left. |
