do TV cameramen have relationships/affairs with news reporters?

Higher standards? Your kidding me! Unless your one of the few on camera reporter’s for national news media, these local reporters make little money and typically go from one station to another until they lose their looks. Don’t think for a second these attractive reports are any better than you.

Yes. News reporter here. In TV. Just slept with 2 of my guys. Not a troll or a joke. We work stressful, specialized jobs. We work hard and play hard.

Let me add...

I got so many booty calls from too many current and former coworkers this month. We are all so stressed with no outlet. And, I know my current boss wants to, if we were not under "do not touch orders." Again, not trolling. This is my life.

Your "friend" has nothing to worry about, if the dynamic is anything like what I see here and amongst other colleagues.

Don't get me wrong; my cameraman does have a crush on me. It's really cute. He has a sweet wife who just never lost the baby weight from DC1 before she got pregnant with DC2. You know how it is if you're not disciplined.

But there's no chance anything can happen because I can do so much better. I'm guessing the same is true for your friend's boyfriend's reporter. We get offers from doctors, executives, and (in major league markets) pro athletes. Not to FWBs and flings with personal trainers, maybe hot firemen, and the like. It's fun to tease my cameraman but I'm not going to hook up with him. There's a HUGE difference.

Gag me.

I ended up befriending a local TV person (weather person/meteorologist) when I was in grad school. She was living in our small town, but was in a relationship with someone from another city.

I am not one to kiss and tell (ok I am), but we went beyond platonic. We had a lot in common (professionally). I met her after she interviewed me after a national disaster that related to my field of study.

I can not say if she would or would not date a camera man, but she did cheat on her fiancé with a grad student. (I really liked her and would have liked to have a real relationship). FWIW, she ended up on the Weather Channel.

Wow. This may be the most condescending post I've ever seen on DCUM, and that's saying something!

Meh! Fox anchor from Virginia. Think if her as an amalgamation of all all the pornstars that Trump showered with and Sarah Sanders...

How did you go from being interviewed to being in an affair?

She wanted to learn more, and asked me to dinner...I being a poor grad student would never turn down free food. It evolved....

Oh I bet it’s real. Sweet young thing reporter from NOVA is “building her career” in some 5tb rate podunk town where she’s the hottest thing since sliced cheese. And she’ll still be there 10 years from now, running the local PTA and prattling on about her glory days on TV

I’ve been in and around TV news and imo it’s hardly that, it reflects a big part of reality.

PP, what’s yer problem?

She is worried her BF is spending more time with the reporter than her, which I suppose is true since they work together all day. The opportunity is certainly there. And he's known and worked with the woman much longer than he's dated her, so they're already very close.

On the other hand, I think the reporter would have higher standards, and could do better than a cameraman. But I don't know, that's just a guess.

Sorry, I stopped reading your crappy post at “could do better than a cameraman.” You clearly have no understanding of how broadcast journalism works.

At this point, it depends on how much money you have and what you will do for me.
