do TV cameramen have relationships/affairs with news reporters?

Anonymous
Do so much better than "cameramen?" No. I use my people to push through the stories that make me money. We are a tight network. You will never do better than a cameraman. They will work so hard for you. It's the jerks who make the money that are narcissistic people who will never please you like a cameraman. That is why you marry the higher ups and enjoy the cameramen.

Unless your one of the few on camera reporter’s for national news media, these local reporters make little money and typically go from one station to another until they lose their looks. Don’t think for a second these attractive reports are any better than you.

This is more untrue now than ever. I need experienced people under me. I haven't lost my looks yet, but I only work for outlets that staff with experience and skill over looks. It is way more important now than ever.

Your "friend" has nothing to worry about, if the dynamic is anything like what I see here and amongst other colleagues.

Don't get me wrong; my cameraman does have a crush on me. It's really cute. He has a sweet wife who just never lost the baby weight from DC1 before she got pregnant with DC2. You know how it is if you're not disciplined.

But there's no chance anything can happen because I can do so much better. I'm guessing the same is true for your friend's boyfriend's reporter. We get offers from doctors, executives, and (in major league markets) pro athletes. Not to FWBs and flings with personal trainers, maybe hot firemen, and the like. It's fun to tease my cameraman but I'm not going to hook up with him. There's a HUGE difference.

Female at Fox. Good luck with that. But judging by your post, you will definitely fit right in.

I've been in journalism for 30 plus years and have never considered a relationship with a cameraman or photographer and can only think of one such relationship, in which case the photographer was the female, the reporter male.

I put reporters and cameramen on the same level.

Exactly. Most TV “reporters” I know are dumbasses. Not real journalism.

NP, I know this post is old, but I thought the same thing. I thought, why would you try to build from Fox?! Wonder where she is now.

S/O for anyone in the media. Are the local Fox stations really deserving of the hate that is pointed towards Fox news? In my area, we have a local Fox channel and all of the on air talent seems fairly middle of road.

There was a couple about 15 years ago I want to say like in North Carolina or something that filmed themselves having sex in the news van and it was released online. She was young and attractive and he was old and fat. But it happened.

Agree. Right now, if you are still working at a FOX station, hopefully it is paired with another affiliate. I really can't stand people who come to me directly from a smaller FOX station.

Local FOX stations are fine. It's the national network that gets most the hate. I just dislike the local FOX style of reporting. I have had to correct it too many times for the DC market.

Meanwhile in other news outside of Upper NW, 65,000 are dead and 30 million unemployed...

Found the details about the reporter and cameraman sex tap inside the news van. Happened down in Hampton Roads. Allison Williams at stations WVEC.

https://www.reddit.com/r/norfolk/comments/6b9rhp/a_hampton_roads_news_reporter_filmed_a_sex_tape/

There was a beauty queen from WV with the same name and who looked like her that sued the porn companies to remove the affiliation to her.

A centrally-owned Fox local station or an independent one? And do they air any Fox “News” content like the Sunday stuff?

Because if you’re helping Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch divide and destroy this country you should think about whether you really want to stay at that job.

This country is headed toward disaster and no one is more responsible than Fox— its owners, its management and yes, its employees.
Don’t take dirty money from an institution that is flushing American democracy down the drain.

Anonymous wrote:My housemate is dating a cameraman. He works with and travels with a reporter that most people would consider attractive. She is single. He is previously married, divorced about 6 years. Apparently this is a pretty common thing.

She is worried her BF is spending more time with the reporter than her, which I suppose is true since they work together all day. The opportunity is certainly there. And he's known and worked with the woman much longer than he's dated her, so they're already very close.

On the other hand, I think the reporter would have higher standards, and could do better than a cameraman. But I don't know, that's just a guess.

What nework?

Yes. I know of a few camera men who currently work and they are married and have had multiple affairs over the years with several large name female news reporters. The hook ups sexual affairs happen on the road. So yes it does happen and often. DO NOT trust camera men.
