Joe Biden's name is actually JOSEPH

Bill Clinton...guess what its WILLIAM

AG Session...JEFFERSON (WTF where did the AG come from??)

Mike Pence is MICHAEL

I could go on and on. I wonder if its because as kids their parents always infantilized their names? I don't know but its a ridiculous trend.

Is this sarcasm, or are you from another country?

I call him shithead or racist or misogynist or narcissist, never don, Donnie or Donald. Mel I call #3, mail-order or putin's Reward

Nope. It just befuddles me - especially for someone living a life as a public figure. I understand celebrities taking on 'stage names' but why do sitting representatives choose to be referred to by nicknames? You don't sign a nickname on crucial documents like wills or deeds or legislation. It isn't your name...

I agree. You dont call our President Donnie and Melly. They are Donald and Melania. Have some respect.

I wouldn't think it childish or immature. There are many, many men who are perfectly fine with such nicknames. Here is just a small sampling of famous people with those names. I certainly think most of them act more mature than OP.

Jimmy Buffet
Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Connors
Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy Hoffa
Jimmy John
Jimmy Kimmel
Jimmy Hoffa
Johnny Carson
Johnny Depp
Johnny Mathis
Bobby Cannavale
Bobby Flay
Bobby Kennedy
Bobby McFerrin
Bobby Orr
Bobby Riggs
Billy Boyd
Billy Carter
Billy Crystal
Billy Dee Williams
Billy Idol
Billy Joel
Billy Ocean
Billy Ray Cyrus
Billy Bob Thornton

Red flag. Not a disqualifier but it just puts me on yellow alert. Most of the time, it's fine.

Once your family starts callig you these nicknames, it's usually there for life. If you don't want your kids to be called "nickname" when they grow up, don't use it when they are children.

lol what?

The AG in AG Sessions means Attorney General. He is Attorney General Sessions. It's not a nickname.

Not necessarily. I am very clear about my child's name as he is too. Non-family still try to change it.

I think that he has probably been called that his entire life, and then I don't think about it.

Doesn't matter what I, or you, or anyone, thinks. That is their personal choice.

Cmon though, can we all agree that Billy Bob is a bit much for a grown man?
